I'm trying to figure out why you think they can?
What makes you think they count as rogue levels? What rule?
I dont know, that's why i'm asking.
I didnt know if there was some errata or ruling that said classes/archetypes that gained sneak attack "as the rogue ability of the same name" were able to sneak attack targets that have IUD in the same way a rogue can.*
(*because when IUD was written only rogues had access to sneak attack, and many old things like that - such as "arcane spellcaster level" for improved familiar - have since been changed because of how many other archetypes and classes gain the feature.)
I thought it was a fairly reasonable question... Though i'm still not sure why you think the MotM having uncanny dodge when he attacks makes any difference??

improved uncanny dodge says that it stops sneak attack unless the attacker is a rogue of what 5 levels higher than you. Thus strict reading would say that this monk being 10 levels higher would still have his sneak attack blocked.
Personally I'd rule that "rogue" here means "any class granting sneak attack" and thus slayers and this monk of a higher level can get their sneak attack off.

Pressuring Strikes (Ex): At 2nd level, a monk of the mantis gains the sneak attack ability. This ability functions as the rogue ability of the same name, except it can be used only during a flurry of blows. The initial sneak attack damage is +1d6, and the damage increases by 1d6 every 4 levels beyond 2nd. This ability replaces the monk’s 2nd-, 6th-, 10th-, 14th-, and 18th-level bonus feats.
That's the rules text. Since the ability functions as the rouge ability, it's up to interpretation on of that extends to level comparison for overcoming improved uncanny dodge. I'd allow it, because the sneak attack is functionally the rogue ability.

Yup, that's what I'd assume would be reasonable too, and certainly what I would use in home games, but I didn't know if there was any official word on it...

There's very little in the realm of "official clarification" for edge cases. Like maybe 5% or something really small. Because the only way it's official is FAQ and the almost official is PFS clarification. If it's not there it's not official at all. The next best bet is the ask mark thread to get a Dev's idea of how he'd run it.
The effective "official clarification" is just what the majority thinks. The majority decide the rule. But obviously this version can't be proven to a GM that it's the right way.
