Strong Bodyguard / Suggestions?

Advice

Hello there!
So, I just hit level 7 in Wrath of the Righteous and I took Leadership. Originally, I was going to use my cohort and followers to deal with crafting or starting a clergy for my character but the DM said those things will be coming down the road.
Long story short, I'm an aasimar (getting wings at 11th level) oracle healer of the life mystery whom has 30-foot healing spells and I don't provoke when I cast my cures (it's a Mythic game).
I'm considering using my cohort as a body-guard, but I'm not sure /just/ how worth it it is since I don't provoke AoO's on cures and will eventually be off of the ground.
The part makeup is me, a barbarian (good damage), an inquisitor (sorta-kinda some-what tank(?)), a Witch (Debuffer), and a gunslinger as our 'rogue'.
I was, alternatively, thinking about a bard so we'd get some good buffs and knowledge checks, as well, considering the fact that our knowledge checks have been kind of... Lack-luster, usually...
My reasoning behind my idea for a body-guard is that, while I actually wield Radiance (DM shenanigans since we have no paladin) I have poor armor and a hard time protecting myself with it since my damage is puny.
I'm also hoping my character mayhaps becomes a Goddess, so I'm aiming for things to fit this fact.
I mostly want ideas, or maybe a bit of assistance with building my cohort (which will likely be mythic when I get Mythic Leadership)

As a life oracle you are already propping the group up, you don't need someone to prop you up. Unless the GM is throwing really powerful foes at you personally all the time to the point of singling you out, you don't need a bodyguard. With a d8 of health, healing, and medium armor you should be fine.

While this is somewhat true, it isn't entirely. This is Wrath, and demons can teleport right on top of you if they so desire. Not only that, but there's a lot of foes thrown at you, and they are typically pretty powerful compared to average games. I have a lot of HP, but a lucky attack can still easily knock me down. And, I have a chain shirt, as heavier armor will start interfering what what some of my small-time goals are. Hence my though of a bodyguard. Never the less, I'm still looking for ideas for my cohort, not ideas to turn me away from them. There's not much else that I desire as far as feats go.

What wod you say to an aid another build for +10 to AC and then work into bodyguard?

Sorry for the slow reply. That doesn't sound bad. I know there are feats that allow you to also take hits for somebody else.
