Pathfinder Society?

Advice

So my pathfinder group is falling apart due to time conflicts. I have only played home brew campaigns in the past and definitely prefer the availability of 3rd party options but right now I just want to play... If anybody could give me tips on what they would recommend to play in pfs or how to start it up it would be greatly appreciated!

Play a Premade character for your first session.

This is cause they have better wealth than a fresh level 1. Get 3 sessions to get the hang of things and some gold then make a character to lock in at level 2.

there's likely a PFS group near you, find it and find when they meet and show up.

Shadow Lodge

I would find out who your local venture officers are. Usually there a local sight or a warhorn sight or ask at the pfs boards.

Also, if you don't like the "culture" at the first location you attend, go to another. Such things do vary.

Kitsune are currently a playable race.
I recommend erring on the side of simplicity, avoiding over specialization, for a first character. That way you can get a feel for the burden of the few extra rules required to keep things fair and even in a world wide shared environment.

Be sure to read the guide.

Well I have played about 4 characters but they have all been home brew so it wouldn't be my first character, just my first one within pfs. And two of my favorites have been kitsune but I thought you needed some kinda points to use them last i looked into pfs?

Scarab Sages

Though they were not always legal, Kitsune are currently legal without a boon and have been for the last couple seasons. So you're in luck there. Make all the Kitsune characters you want!

Grand Lodge

You should own a sourcebook for their game stats. There are several options. If you do already, they're currently open access as others said.

They don't have any weird rules that would stop 2 ppl from playing together from the same laptop do they? As far as online games go.

Grand Lodge

FAQ for sources, the last paragraph should answer this.

edit: It sounds as if both of you are playing on the same table, are able to provide the rules to the GM if needed and as far as he knows or can tell, you're in the same household and/or always play together.

The Exchange

I would suggest at least skimming through the Guide to Organized Play so that you grow accustomed to some of PFS "house rules"

Guide to PFS Play

Also try to contact a nearby Venture Officer list they should be more than willing to help you build your character and introduce you to your future party members.

Finally PFS is held into seasons it is currently season 8 to get a brief spoiler free summery of the last seasons read This

I hope this helps :)

edit: Also feel free to stop by the PFS forums and say HI!
