Howdy.
I'm trying to price an item that I sort of ad-hoc created during a game and running into a little difficulty.
The name of it was something akin to 'Garments of Beguiling Persuasion' made by the one-of-a-kind magic dressmaker, Madam Esmeralda! Or something.
The actual stats I am working with are as follows:
Garments of Beguiling Persuasion
Aura Moderate transmutation; CL 10th
Slot body; Price 58,000 gp; Weight —
DESCRIPTION
This crushed purple velvet corseted dress grants a +5 competence bonus on the wearer's Charisma-based checks and allows the wearer use the magic of the Glibness spell once per day. The dress must be worn without armor and able to clearly be seen by any onlookers for the bonuses to work.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, eagle's splendor, glibness; Cost 29,000 gp
So, does it look allright? The price point seem to be okay? I was trying to work in a way to give a +2 bonus to ac (either through 'armor' or through some kind of a dodge bonus), just not quite sure what that would do to the price of the item.
Theory being, it's supposed to be a mega social-bump to bards, or perhaps Sorcerers or Wizards, without it being clearly evident that 'hinky magics' were at work if said wearer was out and about and doing deals in super-expensive magic dress. Any ideas on how to make the theme better?
Thoughts?

A circlet of persuasion is +3 competence bonus to Charisma based checks and only costs 4,500 gold, so the price looks a bit high for a +2 to Charisma based checks and 1 2nd-level spell a day.
After a quick look at the SRD, have you considered making it an intelligent item? That would seem to open up all sorts of possibilities and the price isn't that bad. You could take the base circlet of persuasion, make it intelligent and give it glibness once per day for significantly less gold and more RP options.
