Merevelyn hesitates. Normally, she would give little thought about killing the goblin enemies in their sleep, especially the alchemist leader. It is likely that the goblins, themselves, would do the same. But, Merevelyn feels pangs of doubt, and whispers to Marduk: "Should we show a better, more merciful example? The alchemist is too dangerous, but the follower could be tied up and let go later."

![]() |

"It is true defeating or killing an opponent in battle is the honorable way, but certainly the alchemist should be dealt with. The follower could be tied up, but may i suggest a gag and locked up inside a small box or barrel and put into a room that is deserted. Risking an alarm is too dangerous."

Darmut is just upset over Shersht nearly dying not a big deal for me OOC if the goblins live, but IC he wants all of these fire throwers dead.
Darmut climbs up to the platform and rushes to Shersht casting a healing spell before plunging his trident through the center of the alchemists face and then stamping upon the creatures face until it is a bloody shattered remnant.
This done in silence, he moves back to Shersht and begins examining the roc's wounds with care,
"They all die. I will not let them go. And why is that one still with us, tell her to wait for us, she is no help and I cannot be pleasant for her to see others of her kind killed. Wait for us outside Ekkie."
Then he casts detect magic and examines the alchemists corpse.

Darmut stares at Wyeth, saying in his flat monotone, "Really and which one of those categories do thieves who extort meat on pain of arson, and are especially skilled in throwing fire bombs fit into do you think? Because I say category number one."

![]() |

"You mean as compared to someone who just enthusiastically staved a face in?" snarks Wyeth in reply. "If someone measured you on that alone, how would you be judged?"
His gaze returns to the incapacitated goblin. "I'm not saying it isn't evil; I'm saying we don't know. And if we can control the situation without killing but do so anyway..."
He looks up at Darmut again.
"... does that make us any better than them?"

![]() |

"That monster nearly burned Shersht alive, I know. And yes, we are better than them, because we are not thieving arsonist vermin. Nobody does that to my friend and gets to live. What do you think the city would do with goblin thieves and extortionists, give them a medal? They would kill them."

![]() |

"Yes, but I have to hope there is a different way, and a chance for change, and that evil can be turned to good ... or, at least, 'not so bad', as Wyeth has said," Merevelyn says, gesturing discreetly with her eyes towards Ekkie.
I've been assuming that we are tying them up while we are discussing this. Maybe Shersht should be 'taking care of' the alchemist before it wakes...

![]() |

"Self interest is not good, she did not volunteer we captured her. You can prolong there suffering and hand them over to be killed, but we are not letting these things go, and it would be easier for us and them to slay them now."

Sterelin cured himself, using his own wand before moving onwards.
The party moves on and comes to a dank chamber, bisected by a large stone channel. Thick masonry pipes clutter the room, feeding into the channel or
flowing across the ceiling. A stone walkway without a railing crosses the channel, but crude barbed caltrops litter the length of this bridge. The entire chamber is damp and moldy, and the faint sound of dripping water resonates softly through the area. Three goblins stand on the other side of the bridge. Two of them are holding crude polearms, ready to attack anyone that tries to cross the bridge while the third one starts insulting the Pathfinders with a song!
