I think Skeld points provide pretty good guidelines
Something to also consider when posting information (or not posting some information), is...mechanics wise...to be very careful on your choice of wording or detail used. I have seen people misread spoilers and jump to false conclusions. To a lesser extent with the Flavor info as well.

Ya know, I'm not sure I've ever actually agreed with Skeld before, but...all of this is awesome. Everything Skeld just said is exactly why I read the product discussion threads.
Hey, thanks. You should read more of my posts because I say really awesome stuff all the time! :D
I don't work for Paizo and I don't represent their interests in any way. I am a long time gamer that appreciates the love and care they put into their product and have no desire to see them go out of business. If anyone wants to help Paizo or assist their fans in learning about their products, then write a REVIEW.
I'm a long time gamer that appreciates the work Paizo does, too. I'm glad we see eye-to-eye on that. Anyway, in my mind, reviews occupy a different space that spoilers/reveals. Spoilers and reveals are about what's in the book without a value judgement attached. Reviews are where that value judgement is attached (this is what I like, this is what I don't, etc.).
Additionally, a review is where the products gets discussed in its entirety. Spoilers and reveals are for small snippets that are taken out of the product and discussed individually.
Posting tables of contents and discussing which pictures are in a book are one thing, but there is a fine line that has to be walked when discussing the story or mechanical elements of a book. A discussion is one thing, but out and out giving away content is another thing.
Keep in mind that all the mechanics (unless Paizo decides otherwise) are OGL and OGL stuff is going to be put on OGL websites in a matter of weeks. This isn't about whether or not the content should be put out there at all, but on when it should be put out there (when subs start going out versus the street date when it's available to the public at large). The fluff is a different story, which is why I advocate only discussing it in broad terms.
That said, for me it is sort of like movie trailers, you know? Some, like the original Batman movie with Michael Keaton were short and gave you enough to interest you, while most of the modern ones are nothing short of the Cliff's Notes of the movie, with all the best jokes and whatnot shown.
I get you. That's why I'm a big fan of spoilers so that people like yourself, that would rather read all the details when they get their own copy, aren't accosted by a deluge of spoilery stuff.

Y'know, this is something I was thinking about yesterday that I didn't mention in my big post upthread that I've noticed myself doing more often. I like to start things off at a high level and drill down into the details as people ask questions.
What is does is allow for more, broader information to get out, then for that information to be refined based on the the questions. If a feat or something get mentioned, and no one asks any further questions about it, then it's left at the 10,000' level. Things people show interest in get more discussion.

people have mentioned that the OGL stuff will be out in a few weeks multiple times in this thread as a reason why adding mechanical bits is ok... but both D20pfsrd and archives of neyths have mentioned on know direction interviews that they have been asked to not add content for 2-4 weeks after the street date. So shouldn't we as a community respect those same wishes?

I am for giving info about the product and answering questions so that people know what is in the book
I think people making an informed buying decision is best both for them and for Paizo
I dislike the copy-pasting of content as I feel it is lazy. Except for the summary where it is merely efficient
I would like some Paizonian or freelancing authors giving their opinion on this too as I feel that their point of view is different from those of the customers

I think I gave mine elsewhere, but for the record: I have no problem giving some information about what's in a book once I've gotten my shipping notice. I'll give broad strokes, but it'll be rare for a preview post of mine to substitute for actually seeing the content. To put it another way, I'd rather give teasers than spoilers.
This is all for those rare occasions when I get my subscription shipment before the very end, of course. So, not too often. ^_^

I think someone should copy "Skeld's Laws" above into a FAQ.
He's given it a lot of thought and done an excellent job outlining the fuzzy line we're all trying to play within.

Yes, yes, but the important question is: Does a paladin fall for not obeying them? :-)
