Chaokineticist vs Undead

Advice

So one of my PFS characters is a chaokineticist who started with Negative Blast because I liked the touch attack. While going through The Confirmation I realised something I had overlooked. I can't hurt undead! And I don't get another blast that can hurt undead until level 7!

How completely screwed am I? And is there a trick that will help until I get Expanded Element at level 7? Do I just run around punching undead with my cestus and suck up the drop in damage?

Pretty much as you said, unless it's too late for you to change your mind and start with gravity blast instead, you're not going to be especially effective against undead until you hit 7th and can take gravity blast or a different element.

Keep in mind that (at least as far as I can tell) if you're aiming for negative admixture, while it is the only energy composite aside from blue flame, it doesn't seem to actually be associated with any non-universal infusions, as it doesn't state it's treated as the accompanying blast like how aetheric and gravitic boosts do. Unless I'm missing something, of course.

Nah, I plan on going straight Void, so I'll get Gravity Blast and Void Blast as my Composite. Technically I could swap blast type after the scenario is over, since the character's still level 1, but I think I'll just stick with Negative and just punch undead when they show up.

I like the touch attack part of Negative Blast, but undead are always common and being stuck unable to use the definitive class ability against them until level 7 (which is just about half of a PFS career) sucks. Maybe Gravity would be better…

remember negative only hurts living targets, there are other things besides undead that aren't living

Gravity is a safer bet, but you'll need to eat more feat taxes for PBS and Precise Shot. As an alternative, you can just gear up for undead: use a trait to make Knowledge Religion a class skill to identify troublesome targets and carry a Bandolier full of Holy Waters. 2d4 damage isn't much, but it's something.

You can also wield a Cestus or Spiked Gauntlet so you can assist with flanks and Aid Another to assist the allies who -can- kill them. You will be on teams, after all, and PFS "metagames" tend to have players rolling melee damage dealers more than anything else.

You're boned against constructs also.

Like Rosc said, get a cestus or spiked gauntlet to always be armed and help flank and simply "punch" things immune to your blasts. Other energy blast kineticists gotta do the same (fire, cold, electric, etc). Oh dagger also for slashing DR. Crossbow in case you'd still want to benefit from any ranged feats invested.
