Meridian Belt and Ring of Regeneration

Rules Questions

If I am wearing a Meridian Belt and have a Ring of Regeneration in one of the non-active slots when I take damage, will that damage be healed if I switch to that ring after combat?

While the belt is worn, wearing a ring on a foot counts toward the attunement process of certain rings (such as a ring of sustenance) even if the belt isn't used to make that ring active during that attunement period.

RAI, almost certainly not. RAW, yup! The belt speaks of you wearing the ring, which is what the ring specifies, though the writer was probably thinking "while wearing the ring actively."

It's not especially broken anyway; the main point is that you can't pass it around the party post-combat, which you still can't.

The text speaks of wearing the ring only because there was no item to make use of inactive rings at the time... you have to have the ring active at the time you take the damage for it to regenarate, if it's not active at the time, you're SOL and have to ask the cleric for a CW, or just wait for it to heal naturally.

I disagree.

IMO, the point at the "...only damage taken while wearing the ring is regenerated" part is to not allow someone to just use the ring as an alternative to cure spells, passing it around.

With whom are you disagreeing? it looks we are of a mind on this matter.
