Sniff...Hillary Clinton does not have the stamina to be President...sniff. ~Donald Trump

I dunno, Trump may have the best temperament. He probably keeps it in a jar on a shelf, next to his Tebow helmet. Probably bought it from some stiffed contractor who sold it for dimes on the dollar to be able to pay his employees.

Boy did Trump grab hand-over-fist at the rope wheel. Look at all that rope he played out .. around his own neck.

Liberty's Edge

Wow ...

Listening to this ... how can anyone think he's qualified to be the President?

the amount of cheering for Trump from my current home county makes me a sad panda

Audience member: "Hail, Donald!"

All right!

Holt wasn't great, but I don't think he did a terrible job.

As a whole, however, I think Clinton nailed it - cool and collected the whole way through, even as Trump accused her of everything he himself was doing.

Dear Santa,

Please give Mr. Holt a literal punching bag with Trump's face for Christmas.

Or at least a raise.

No moderator will be able to keep Trump on task unless they can turn off Trump's mike.

Hillary is just talking in circles. She says one thing then contradicts it. Now she does this in a very general and vague way. I just dont trust anything she says. She really does not care if American lives are lost "What difference at this point does it make" (paraphrased of course). It makes a huge difference. She has spent a career in obfuscation and subterfuge and I just dont trust her. She has yet to present any policy and only presses the vote in a poor way. This vote for me because he is bad, is a piss poor reason. She really does not have much to hold her up based on her record. I see her as little more than a failure being pushed as a quasi Manchurian candidate.

Just my .02 worth. You dont have to agree with me and you dont even have to like it. But you do have to respect my right to say it.

Personally I dont like to see real world politics in my gaming. Gaming is my escape and distraction from real world issues, I dont need the arguments where I go to relax. I cant stop anyone from expressing an opinion here but I can ask to keep it to a minimum. Make the debates elsewhere please.

Thank you for your time

Holt took a bit to warm up but did a good job

Clinton kicked ass..to the point that I kind of doubt there will be future debates. Trump started off kind of calm but got rattled pretty quickly and went to crazy town.

You are correct, absolutely. However its kind of like the "dont think about elephants" thing. As soon as its mentioned you think about elephants. Evert time I see the recent posts on the side of the page about this particular subject it has become injects into my field of vision so to speak, its almost unavoidable. So if you can instruct me on how to stop particular feeds from posting on my feed please educate me, im open to learning new things. So since I am not able to stop it from entering my field of view I have chosen on expressing not only my opinion on the subject but my opinion about the subject itself. I spent years gaming with folks I disagree with politically but this time around it has done nothing but cause problems. So again you dont have to agree with me but you do have to respect my right to say it. I have to respect the right of others to make the statements here. I have asked to keep it to a minimum is all. Its king of a catch 22, I ask others to keep it to a minimum yet I make my own post. Seems hypocritical in a way. But its a request and the only way to put that request out is to participate in the exact subject I ask be minimized.

I think Hillary did a pretty awesome job, but if you measure winning/losing in poll results post debate I am not sure Hillary gained that much.

Although I am pretty sure Trump didn't gain anything out of the debate at all.

Dude, when you look at the list of thread titles, just go to the little symbol to the right of this thread. If you click that, it hides the thread. You'll never see it again.

Oh, come on. Tell me this isn't some sort of primary allusion. The primary debates were all free-for-all, and everybody—including Hillary—talked over everybody else.

What I found delightful was Trump trying to handle things like another one of those, actually. Trying to raise his voice for cheers when the audience was asked not to applaud. Interrupting moderators, interrupting Hillary—he looked every bit the fool he was in the primaries, at least on that front.

That remark made him look bullish, but honestly, a better debater would have called him on that. And his "That's good business" remark earlier. But I can pardon her occasional missed opportunity, because...

Yeah, that's the flip side. It's hard to make the choice on the fly—do I keep going, or do I stop and call him out?

MMCJawa wrote:

Yeah, but the crowd still favored Hillary. Remarkable.

Guys, right now, even Fox News is saying Trump lost. Admittedly, he did piss them off fairly recently, but still. This was pretty damn glorious.

Trump fumbled, he sniffled, he lied and lied and got called out on his lies, he repeated talking points, he fought with the moderator, and he fell into every trap Hillary Clinton laid. It might make no difference in terms of votes, but Hillary won this. As they said on NPR: Trump had an incredibly low bar and he couldn't even reach that.

What points does the Trump campaign think they are winning by mentioning all the mean things they had planned to say but didn't?

Consider it from another view.

"They were saying mean things, my immediate reaction was to want to say very hurtful things back."

Knight who says Meh wrote:

The same points Trump thinks he is winning by claiming Clinton's ads say mean things about him? You know, all those ads which are just Americans reacting to actual videos of the horrible, ignorant, hateful words coming out of Trump's mouth.

No it won't. Clinton has to bring out a command performance just to make sure that she keeps the Sanders people.

Trump can go up the podium and do nothing but drop his pants and it won't change an iota on his followers.

Drahliana, do you honestly believe it's about Trump vs Sanders faithful? I think it's about the undecideds, no insult intended.

Part of me does wonder...what percentage of viewers were basically hardcore Clinton/Trump supporters, and how many were casuals who could flip between the two.

I mean all my friends and colleagues watched...but there was no way in hell any of us would ever vote for Trump. My suspicion is that, moreso than normal, people were tuning in to see there favorite spar with their nemesis, than out of any need to be convinced.

What I believe is that there is absolutely that nothing that Clinton can do or nothing that Trump has to do that will change his numbers.

Clinton had to do well, and she did, Trump only had to show up. What will happen is that nothing significant will change in tomorrow's polls.

This election is about the most polarised that I've ever seen. I don't think that there are that many undecideds, unless you're talking about the Libertarians who would probably go for Trump over Clinton, and the Greens, who I have no idea where they would go.

Actually, this election has had way more undecideds than elections of the past. Nate Silver's touched on it recently.

This means that some 18 percent of the electorate is undecided, compared to only 6 percent at this point four years ago.

MSNBC just used an analogy of a bull fight. Trump as the bull (he was even snorting!) and Clinton as the matador/picador (but they didn't mention her red outfit!). Very apt. The madder the bull got, the better the matador did.

These debates are really for the undecided and particularly the 3rd party supporters who see that their candidate is not on the stage, and now they need to pick someone from the stage if they want their vote to count.

We'll see. Doing more debates will likely hurt him, but so will dropping the debates. Beyond the practical concerns, it's all about the ego - can he admit how badly he did by dropping out?

The vice-presidential debate will likely be more traditional and not nearly so much of a blow-out. It also matters far, far less.

It will be interesting to see if this shifts the polls. I suspect it will, but not dramatically. Stopping Clinton's apparent decline and starting a slow rise seems most likely to me. At least until something else dramatic happens.

All the health related speculations about Clinton are basically propaganda. I mean, the only real reason to be concerned about her health is her age and that applies at least equally to Trump.

Pretty much anyone who's bought into the Clinton's hiding serious health problems theory isn't voting for her no matter who her vice president is.

If you're looking for reasons the vice presidential debate should matter, I'd focus on Trump's comments suggesting he'd delegate most of the actual work to his vice-president - and Pence saying his role model would be Cheney.

But it doesn't matter - the vp debate still won't matter. Both candidates are basically reliable middle of their party types. Neither's going to flame out or anything like that. Debates don't usually make a huge difference. Vice-presidential candidates don't usually make a huge difference. Vice-presidential candidate debates rarely mean a thing.
