can you heal an eidolon with normal magic?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

or just with the healing spells meant for the eidolon?

Eidolon is an outsider. Outsiders are living creatures and can be healed with regular healing magic unless they have abilities that change that (e.g. negative energy affinity).

There is no rule saying that eidolons are not healed by regular healing spells.

Conclusion: eidolons can be healed with regular healing spells.

Yes... unless it's a synthesist summoner's eidolon. It's a unique case, as it's hit points are described as temporary hit point additions to the summoner, and the standard cure spells do not heal temporary hit points. The only spells that will fix that Eidolon are the Restore Eidolon line of spells.

You can heal it by dismissing it back to its home plane, I think. It can rest like anyone else. I'd recommend leaving them there forever and playing a different class.

Just to avoid confusion from the above sarcastic comment

Quote:
A summoner can summon his eidolon in a ritual that takes 1 minute to perform. When summoned in this way, the eidolon hit points are unchanged from the last time it was summoned. The only exception to this is if the eidolon was slain, in which case it returns with half its normal hit points.

If the eidolon didn't get taken out, it will have exactly as many hit points when re-summoned as it did when it was sent back to its home plane regardless of how long you wait.

That said as mentioned normal magic works on eidolons unless you are a synthesist.

We are discussing this in a game and I am wondering if this is different in Unchained or this is the same?

Same.
