Let me start by saying that I read about Russell's unfortunate passing and I offer sympathy to his family and the gaming community that he enriched.
I have tried crawling every forum possible to see if the 'Kaidan' kickstarter is still continuing and the projected ETA on it but have had no luck. I read updates for 'In the Company of Dragons' and a few other kickstarter projects, but have not seen any for Kaidan.
The setting is one of great interest to me because I am very much a Japanophile and a lover of horror stories in general, so I have been looking forward to the general release of this ever since I missed the kickstarter years ago.
So is the book still being worked on? If so, when might it be available for both backer and public release? If it is being discontinued, can I get an email of the notes and art? I would be willing to pay for even just a rough draft of the setting and the art, if I am being perfectly honest.
Thanks for any information on this that you can give!

Alice,
I'm not formally involved in the project, and I certainly am not in a position to give dates or specifics. But I do know Rite is still working on the Kaidan Kickstarter. Figuring out where all the moving parts are is tricky when you lose a project runner under the best of circumstances, and this is pretty close to the worst circumstances.
But it's still being looked and, and I am sure Rite will do right by their backers, though obviously it will take some extra time.

The last information I had as a fellow ardent fan of Kaidan is, that Rite's operation will continue for now, so there is a definite chance you and me will get the final book. I'm not sure if it's being worked on right *now*, and I think there is a very real chance we'll get to see this. having talked to a couple of Rite freelancers at the con, I am pretty positive you'll get to see this eventually.

We've only got one or two illustrations left before I do the final page layout, then create a couple needed maps and ready it for the print runs, and PDF release.
We are now waiting on Steven Russell's wife to formerly take control of the company through probate. Once that's done all Rite Publishing projects will move forward, and Kaidan be readied for release.

Well I have no idea, other than all Rite Publishing projects currently in development will eventually be released. Since Kaidan is actually my homebrew published as an imprint under Rite Publishing, I'm the primary involved with the project - I am only aware of it, and very little of other Rite Publishing projects.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Miranda Russell, I am Steven Russell's wife.
I am posting all updates to our facebook page found here as it is available to everyone: https://www.facebook.com/RitePublishingFans/
I have received several inquiries from folks regarding the status of other Kickstarter Projects that are in progress. I wanted to just make it generally known, I am working with all the teams on all the Kickstarters to produce an update for each one. I want to ensure the information I am providing is accurate. Thank you for your continued patience and rest assured updates for all the other active KS projects are forthcoming.
Once we have all current projects in hand and ensure that we are meeting our obligations to current customers then we will begin to make plans for future RiP projects.
Please keep in mind that there are still numerous things in which I am dealing with personally and so I understand some updates and the progress overall is slower then perhaps to what our customers are used to, but our priority is ensuring everything we produce meets the quality our customers have come to expect.
Sincerely,
Miranda Russel

Apolagise if this seems like a thread hijacking but any word on whats to happen with the Gateway pass adventure path?
Thank you for your time.
That particular project was being worked on a handshake basis with Steve because he and I were pretty close. There was no contract for it. Ordinarily, this wouldn't have been an issue, but with Steve's passing, any non-contracted work was put on indefinite haitus. Now, I can approach Miranda about that project in the future, but for at least the next six months, while the rest of the projects are being worked, Gateway Pass will not be progressing.

Ben,
We do have lot of seeds for the AP in the ground. When/If this ever comes back around, let me know. I'm willing to jump back in on it.~Greg

I am wrapping up the final page layout for the Gamemaster's Guide to Kaidan to obtain the printers proof copy, prior to the full print run to fulfill the Kaidan Kickstarter.
You can visit my Facebook page to see the cover design as it will appear.
Hopefully it will be released in December.

Hi, I had missed the kickstarter, but I am interested in the setting conceptually. Does anyone know if it the book has already been published and if it will be made available at DriveThruRPG or elsewhere?
As a Kickstarter backer, I just received my print copy of the campaign setting last week. The Player's Guide is expected to finish editing by end of July. I'd expect the campaign setting to be available for general sale this month (again, just a backer so a grain of salt there).
