Is it a remake of the movie, or a series?
Just a FYI, Westworld starting at 9pm EST tonight.
Ok, really enjoyed the first episode. Everyone was just superb. Plus I love that people can smoke and swear on the show.

The Man in Black has been compared to a gamer who has solved every quest in the game and is now looking for exploits and secrets.

It's looking good from first impressions....I get the feeling 'The Government' will come into the equation at some point...

Except, for some reason, I think that the Man in Black is an android. I originally assumed that he was going to be the equivalent of 'the Gunslinger' android from the original movie, but obviously there is more to the character in this version. Possibly a host that thinks he is a visitor.
He did say 'In a way I was born here' So he is either an android who has gotten around the limitations that hosts have(Such as Teddy being unable to shoot him) or a member of the original park.

I think he meant that he found out who he really is at the park. Fits the themes of the entire episode. If the man in black is/was a host, why do the bullets not hurt him? I think he is human and each visit leaves him thinking there is a deeper level to the game. My guess is there is, but its unknown to many of the designers and park employees. Also, eluded to in the pilot episode. Either way cant wait to find out more.

Working assumption would be that someone set the 'visitor flag' on him to keep him from wasting time dying constantly (e.g. at the hanging or in town with the guy's cousins), and then programmed him with a drive to track down the 'deeper level' of the park.
Sure, he could also be a human... but the park bullet immunity alone doesn't necessarily prove that.
Hopkin's character is an odd one. He seems to want to be Prometheus and give the Hosts 'fire' as per his statement that humans are at their end. But why does he allow the Hosts to go such horrid treatment by visitors?
Poor Teddy. His lot seems to be getting killed off.
Ok, I am loving this show more and more with each episode. All of the actors are doing a superb, superb job. Amazing.
After episode 3, I have a hypothesis:

My brain hurts. Need episode 4 to figure out even anything.
Last night's episode was great, though.
Anyone else think Sizemore is a DM/scenario writer working for entitled munchkins?
When Hopkin's said 'I'm not mad'. That is usually when said people go 'They called me mad, MAD! I'll show them all! AHAHAHHA!"
Oh, he's perfectly sane, he just won't let bean counters and people without vision ruin his.
More stuff. These episodes are dense, full of stuff and things go along at a better pace than GoT.
Felix, I love ya man, but doing that fiddling is going to get you killed before the season ends.
Maeve's walk upstairs was very well done and the music was excellent.
Never stand in a dark room calling out for someone
Gunslinger cameo!
In the basement when Lowe went to check on the data from the older models.
Yep. He was in the background and slightly out of focus, but definitely recognizable.
"What door?"
It might explain the picture of Ford and Arnold though. It has been pointed out that the picture looks like there might be a third person there but that person was ignored due to Hosts not processing things that would disrupt their world.

I am very late to this thread. However, did that episode last night kinda mess with anyone else? I'm still kinda disturbed by the "revelation" and then what happened to poor Bernard.

Yep. The double timelines is pretty much confirmed and William=MiB as well.
I am guessing that Ford is well aware of Maeve's actions and Ford's new narrative will be 'And then the Delos board was killed by a horde of zombie robots.!"
And that's a wrap for now. Extra long episode that works as both a season 1 end and a series conclusion if there were no further seasons(no doubt with tweaking)
I wonder if the Abernathy data dump was a plot that was dropped or will reappear.
Okay, what was pointing at the
This show is alot like lost, there are no dropped plots. I have a strong feeling that Abernathy is gonna show again, as will Samurai World.
So people on Reddit have been checking out the code from the now on the fritz Delos website
I really loved this show. Great writing, and they payoff at the final episode was amazing when you finaly realize all that has been going on. Great acting from everyone too, Hopkins especially. Damn he was good. And I love basically everything Jeffrey Wright does so Bernard was my favorite character from the beginning.
Damn good series. Shame I'll now have to wait for 2018 for more!
They're gonna ruin it. Great.

How? I did not see anything that would possibly ruin it. I actually found it following much of the same takes the first season did, but turned upside town.
New episode tonight at 9!
Such a difference between Maeve, who before she gave herself Ford powers last season had evolved into something more, and Dolores/Wyatt who's melting pot of a personality wants to burn it all down. I'm guessing the end game will have each of them leading opposing factions of awakened hosts.
Best dialog goes to MiB and Robert kidbot. "You found the center of Arnold's maze. Now you're in my game. This game's for you William."
Amazon Prime has Westworld season 1 for $15 right now.
Looks like 3 timelines or so
Right after the attack
A bit after
A few weeks after(When Benard is on the beach)
I suspect the data gathering by Delos is part of their plan to replace certain people with Hosts. Also guessing Delores is going to try a reverse version where she downloads Hosts into Guests and are 'rescued' so they can slip into the world she wants to take away from humans.
Download hosts into guests? What?
Pure speculation, but what I mean is that the hosts(robots) use the captive guests(humans) to escape by kicking out the guest's minds and replacing them with the host's and thus they are miraculously rescued.
It has been tossed around that Delos wants the data on the hosts(that was carried by Maeve) so they can replace whomever they want with host doubles
Collecting DNA from the guests may suggest some sort of rapid cloning of those guests' bodies, and copying the hosts' minds into those artificial but organic forms.
Ok, that really doesn't make sense
I was kinda surprised that they torched the whole room instead of dragging out the frozen host and then burning him(Before the robot uprising)
Let's face it, they did it because it looked freaking cool to see flames in a bubble.
I am wondering if William will be doing the Bullet test to make sure that is really his daughter.

I hope not. The bullets are now programed to see everyone as hosts now, so that'd kill her.
Hmmm, well considering that William has been cruising around the park for decades, he has to know that hosts can look like anyone and be very paranoid
Saw this idea, what if William is now a host? He did mysteriously pull himself out from a pile of bodies in the beginning instead of facing down a horde of rampaging hosts. Plus he seems to be doing well despite getting his arm broken last season so he got repaired?
Been reading about disappointment with the show from fans and have to agree that I am not keen with the directions several characters are going. Delores becoming a murderous tyrant who throws other hosts under the train is something I don't like, plus Maeve's super hacking powers are wearing real thin.
Plus the whole bank heist in Samurai world that mirror's Westworld is still going on? I would think it would be in shambles after Ford's unshackling of the hosts.
