Ranger Deity

Does a ranger need a Deity for Pathfinder society. I cannot find anything in the core book but the core book has limited reference for the cleric as well.

Nope, Rangers don't pray for spells they just meditate and focus their minds. It's why they have such a narrow spell list, it's more their connection to the land that gives them extra power than a deity, though they tend to worship the nature based Gods.

Rangers do not need to pray to a specific deity to receive their divine spells. From the Guide v7, p10:

Quote:
Clerics, inquisitors, paladins, cavaliers of the order of the star, and samurai of the order of the star must choose a deity as all classes in Golarion that receive spells and abilities from a specific divine source receive their powers from a deity. Druids, oracles, and rangers are the exception to this rule.

Emphasis mine.

But if you have access to Inner Sea Combat there are different combat styles available to rangers that worship a specific deity.

Which is good. The stately lady riding an elk needs more followers, even if they use the butterfly version.

A true follower of desna would hardly expect the lady to stick with one holy symbol for any longer than ooo pretty...
