Sadly all you're getting is the laser light show transformation with not much else to show for it.
As for the archetype name...Magical Child it doesn't seem like age is a factor for playing it. Which is good as it opens up more player concepts.

Ok, so, assuming Cringer is a Mauler-archetype cat to begin with to make him medium, then He-Man pointing his sword at him is 'Enlarge Person,' a first level summoner spell, you can get a cat familiar up to Large size!

The Magical Child can cast the various evolution spells. Evolve the familiar to large size, much better stats.
