Preparing "Midnight Isles" - Question (Spoiler)

Hey guys,

as the topic says , i am preparing "The Midnight Isles" and stumbled over a problem:

Does it make any sense what Queen Galfrey asks from the PC? I mean , closing the portal from the abyss-side, traveling in the abyss to meet a frikkin demonlord without knowing if Nocticula really wants to help? I mean---shes a demonlord.
Sounds like a sucicidal commando...how can i convince the PC to accept this task (Other than "Its the plot , go for it" or "The queen commands you to do" ) ?

Closing the portal requires them to visit the Abyss, since it must be done from both sides. Testing it here is important for perfecting the Invoke Paradox Ritual, as they'll eventually need this magic to close the Worldwound itself.

As for Nocticula: it's not so much about getting her help, per se, as it is about preventing an alliance between her and Deskari and Baphomet. Two demon lords are more than enough for Mendev to deal with; in addition, Galfrey has seen the damage to the Crusades caused by the Templars of the Ivory Labyrinth, and the masterful plotting of Nocticula would be many times worse.

That's my take, anyway. ^_^
