Lets burn it up (Advice needed)

Advice

I am looking into getting into a level 15 game its gestalt and the DM is letting us take monsters on one side.

So I decided I wanted to make a character something akin to Natsu
Peri Fire Kineticist sounds about right.

Peri has a CR of 14, so it would be Peri 14/Class 1//Kineticist 15

But I have 0 experience with the class.
I know by 14th level you get two expanded elements so maybe Air would be a good one to replicate a Lightning focus, especially with the immunity to Electricity.

Can anyone with experience help me out? I just need solid advice on how to set this up.

I don't know much about taking monsters, but if you want to make a keneticist, you are going to do some reading up, because they are Complicated. I'll recommend Mastering the Elements as a start. As for a kineticist going fire into lighting, you won't have a composite blast, and are going to have problems with things that have multiple elemental resistances; make sure you are ok with that.

As for an actual build, if you want to be like Natsu, there's nothing to let you eat fire, but you'll have a couple extra tricks that Natsu never got. :-) Kinetic Weapon/Whip seems like a staple for his heavy melee style (Kinetic Fist is closer, but it's strictly worse unless you have a bunch of natural attacks, so reflavor to taste). Also Fan of Flames is kinda like his breath attack. Of course, if you want to use the ranged attacks, you'll need to take the typical ranged feats (sans Rapid Shot) along with Finesse to let you use your Whip without investing into strength. After that, you can just pick the other tricks you like, as there are a bunch of them, and none of them scream "Natsu" to me. :-) Are you planning on going full damage, or what?

You get expanded element twice, at levels 7 & 15. You may want one of those to expand the knowledge of your primary element, fire; I'd suggest the level 15 one so that you can pick up air at 7 and pick up a few air wild talents from levels 7-14.

You get an infusion at each odd numbered level (except first and when you get expanded element), and a wild talent at each even numbered level. They have maximum spell levels of half your kineticist level, or 2 spell levels lower than that if they're outside your primary element. When you expand into air (7) you'll get basic aerokinesis and plasma blast. When you expand into fire (15) you'll get blue flame blast and any one 8th or lower fire wild talent or infusion.

Since you can fly and see thru smoke and fog already courtesy of being a peri several of the wild talents won't matter to you. You won't have much in the way of defence, so make sure you pick up smoke storm so you can at least hide (and shoot thru the smoke because you can see thru it.)

Is that enough or did you need something closer to a full build? A complete list of which wild takents/infusions to pick up or similar?

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, I'd say your elements should be Fire/Air/Fire or Fire/Aether/Fire. Especially since that gets you Pure Flame Infusion as your level 15 thing.

Air and Aether both have great utility stuff to supplement your fire with. I'd actually say Aether has a better defense and equal utility and go with that. You can grab Kinetic Healer (which seems fun) and have the ability to do Blue Flame Blast + Aetheric Boost for hilarious damage (at super high costs, but then you don't need that kind of damage often).

For your Class that'll start with 1 level, I recommend Paladin (Oath of Vengeance) as I have before and will continue to with all Celestials. Why? Cha to Saves. And with Oath of Vengeance you can actually have enough Smites to matter, too.

Iw as thinking Fire/Air/Fire as well.
There is the Plasma Blast for Composite for Air and Fire. But thats the only one.
I am actually surprised that there is no way to heal via your element.

And outline build would not be objected too but I am working on one. But any experienced players advice is welcome.

You can heal yourself if you take aether at some point.

Quote:

Kinetic Healer

Element(s) aether or water; Type utility (Sp); Level 1; Burn 1; see text
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance yes

With a touch, you can heal a willing living creature of an amount of damage equal to your kinetic blast's damage. Instead of paying the burn cost yourself, you can cause the recipient to take 1 point of burn. If you do so, the recipient takes 1 point of nonlethal damage per Hit Die he possesses, as usual for burn; This damage can't be healed by any means until the recipient takes a full night's rest.
