Elven Battle Focus question

Rules Questions

Hi, I have a question which i hope you guys can help me out with.

here is what elven battle focus does. emphasis mine.

"Benefit(s): While using Elven Battle Style, you can add your Intelligence modifier to that weapon's damage (instead of any other ability bonus or modifier you can add to your weapon damage). The weapon must be one appropriate for your size."

does that mean that you can only gain the int to damage when making an attack of opportunity.

heres what the Elven battle style says.

"While wielding a longsword, a rapier, or any melee weapon that has “elven” in its name, combat maneuver checks attempted with that weapon as attacks of opportunity don't themselves provoke attacks of opportunity."

No, I don't believe so. It is a style feat, which means you have to activate it (forgot if it's move or standard) during combat to "use" it and can only have one style running at a time (unless you're a MoMS monk).

So as long as you've activated your style to gain the bonus of Elven Battle Style, you'll get Int to damage for that combat.

Think "stance" instead of style.

What the Tiger said. It's a swift action to enter a style though (which is both more and less restrictive than a move or standard). So you need to spend your swift to enter "Elven Battle Style" and then you get the benefit of Elven Battle Focus until the battle ends or you choose a new style.

okay cool, thanks guys.
