New GM looking for advice / resources on choosing a module to run

Advice

I'm trying to get into GMing (got a fluid group that meets regularly, but they're in need of more GMs and are very newbie friendly), and I need some help. I would like to pick a module or scenario or whatever to run as a 3-6 hour, newbie-friendly one-shot, and I'm having trouble finding something I like. I have a budget of approximately $0, so I'm looking mostly at free downloads or anything that came in the recent HumbleBundle.

I guess what I really want is to know if there's a tool or list or something that has modules/scenarios sortable by character level. Most oneshots my group does hover around 6th level for D&D3.PF, but most of the modules I can find free or already in my downloads are for 1st level characters ... and I have to download them and open the file to find that out, if it's just in my downloads list. Finding the product page is just as much hassle.

Does anyone have any suggestions, either of a module to look at or a website or other listing that might have the information I'm looking for?

The We Be Goblins is a very fun module and if I recall correctly it and the ones that follow it are free. Yes it is low level but starting out GM it is better to start at the beginning. The We Be Goblins line has a chance for role play and pliantly of improvisation. There are a few good fights. It is not a dungeon crawl instead your group braves the swamp to find the baddie.

The beginning of it was a competition that the tribe is participating in and the winners are the ones that will be selected to go get the fireworks. A good chance to flex your descriptive muscles. The group I was in had a blast with it.

Yes they are Goblins but you can still stipulate their alignments if you do not want to deal with the evil alignments.

Alternatively if you are wanting to figure out just the mechanics and how to run combat just good D&D dungeon maps, pick some monsters, and put the PCs there.

On that note you could go with the classic Tavern meeting. Good chance to work on some roleplay. The PCs hear about a problem Maybe there are Goblins in the woods or Kobolds in the nearby caves. A farmer is having issues with some critter. A fetch quest is also a classic. People is the village are getting sick and the healer needs some of the still healtht citizens to go out and find some items.

If you are starting out as a GM, you really should begin with level 1 characters.

But there's a tool for finding adventures, it's on this column to the left
<===== Adventure Finder

Choose 6th level, Sort by: Price Low to High.

For free there's
At the Heart of Evil (PFRPG) PDF
Snow White Mini-Dungeon #4: Glass Golem Go-Round (PFRPG) PDF
Snow White Mini-Dungeon #5: Cabin Catastrophe (PFRPG) PDF
Snow White Mini-Dungeon #6: Campsite in the Haunted Forest (PFRPG) PDF
Snow White Mini-Dungeon #7: Entrance to the Forest Maze (PFRPG) PDF

And then they start charging.

Thanks for the advice.

I've done some GMing before, and I've played quite a bit lately, so I'm not afraid of jumping in at mid-levels. I find I prefer fully competent characters, and 3.PF doesn't model that real well until about 6th level, or so I've found. But that's the system I feel I know best, so that's what I'm most comfortable starting with for now.

Anyway, I'll take a look at the We Be Goblins series and the Adventure Finder and see what catches my interest. Thanks!
