Combat maneuvers

Rules Questions

i don't know if this is the right spot for this but here it goes. if a person (i.e. a monk) uses a trip combat maneuver with Gauntlets, Giant Fist active do they get the free bull rush? Also let's say a cleric is casting a touch spell instead of touch as can he go for a combat maneuver and still deliver the spell?

Successful Combat Maneuvers are not "hits". For the same reason, they can't deliver touch spells (which makes absolutely zero sense).

What you can do is cast a touch spell and make a regular unarmed strike (with bull rush) to deliver it.

was thinking that because you made an successful attack roll (defined as a strike) that it would go off

Yes, you are posting in the right place!

A combat maneuever is a type of standard action that is not an attack*.

*with the exceptions of disarm, sunder, and trip
