Books To Enhance Hell's Vengeance

Hell's Vengeance

I have run Kingmaker to completion and am 5/6th of the way through Wrath of the Righteous, and for my birthday my brother got me book 1 of Hell's Vengeance.

I was extremely (and happily) surprised to get this book and am looking forward to giving it a shot in a year or two.

But I wonder, what books do I need to enhance the plot?

The Hell's Vengeance Player's Guide has, among lots of other juicy things, a list of other books that GMs and players might want to read. And it's free!

Probably books explaining Cheliax, hell, devils, demons (more so you can understand the difference between them and devils), and some of the player companion books on evil characters can be useful.

Also a word of warning, Antipaladins are more interesting on paper than theu are in practice

2 people marked this as a favorite.

It's not a book but I highly recommend watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. :-)

The Tyrant archetype begs to differ.

Another movie.

The Addams Family

I found that watching the show "Peaky Blinders" helped me set the tone for the adventure.

That's a cop show set in London in the 1900s, right?

How did it help you set the tone?

Goodfellas and The Godfather movies as well.

It follows a criminal syndicate. It is not a cop show. The main characters are the "bad guys" so you see how a criminal organization is run. What choices are made and why, that sort of thing.
