Can paladins have Poison Minion race trait from Blood of Shadows?

Asking this since Paladins can't use poisons without falling, but Poison Minion race trait implies character is born with it and its not something that can be turned off.(if someone tries to bite the character, they might get poisoned)

My guess is that paladins with natural poison ability would refrain from using them, kinda like some monks vow to stay silent.

Yeah, thats what I thought, but in this case you can't avoid using it as using it isn't voluntary(its defensive ability that only activates if character is bitten.) So thats why I'm wondering if its impossible to be paladin if character has this trait in pfs.

It feels a bit disingenuous of a paladin who lives in a world where monsters routinely try to bite you, and who works for an organization that routinely sends you to where such monster lurk (and you're told as such as part of your training), to take an oath against using poisons but still frequent these locations under the guise of "Well, I didn't actively poison them."

My opinion is that yes paladins technically could take the trait (barring any further clarification), but that they shouldn't. It feels pretty off-putting to me to have a character who is anti-poisons be able to poison people because of their blood. I can see it causing more arguments than the trait is worth. (On the other hand I could see a really cool home game idea with an interesting backstory and allow it)

I don't think there is anything wrong with a character who has this trait becoming a paladin. It sounds like an interesting redemption story almost (just without ever having been evil or anything).

You can use the retraining rules from Ultimate Campaign to switch to a different Racial Trait.

"My oaths and code require me to warn you, Good Sir, that due to an unfortunate upbringing I myself am quite poisonous. Were you to use those impressive teeth to attack me you would regrettably expose yourself to said poison. Now that you have been duly warned, Have At Thee!" Hieronymous Sylvant, Paladin of Abadar.

Why pepper?

Seasoning?

Paladin cannot fall for having poisonous blood, as long as it isn't an ability that they need to actively 'top up' to maintain, or actively use (like the Vishkanaya's toxic ability).

Technarken is spot on.

I think there is more than a bit of difference between a character using poison and a character being poisonous.
