Perhaps =)

Vigor Golems were first created by Paladins in the former glory days of Last Wall. Animated with an Air elemental, and infused with the energy from the mercies of dozens of Paladins, these alabaster statues were designed to quickly traverse the field and administer aid to the fallen by means of a honey like secretion that the Vigor Golems would drip from their fingers.

However, Vigor Golems are unstable in design, and are acutely aware that their existence can be measured in months, not years. Thus, they are recklessly self-sacrificing on the field of battle, and if it believes it's comrades face impossible odds, will turn from healing the wounded to unleashing it's power and wrath on the enemy.

Accounts of the first Vigor Golem, which single handedly overwhelmed the 34th and 35th battalions of Cheliax in the battle for the Lost River, suggest that this was a well received but unexpected side-effect associated with the limited sentience brought on by the animation process combined with the high concentrations of positive energy. The chronicler at the time concluded that he was certain that creature "Was not without a soul, and it's actions were not without sacrifice."

Many nations now hold the creation of Vigor Golems to be a capital offense, similar to the creation of undead. It is believed that the enchanters of Cheliax are actively working to recreate the design.

New Substance: Starlight

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Starlight Ooze is an amorphous ooze typically found in low-light dungeons. It appears as a opening in the ground that looks like a star field, often disorienting adventurers because it looks like the night sky and that they're upside down or that the dungeon is in space (no saves because it's a optical trick rather than a magical illusion). Adventurers suffer 10% chance of becoming nauseous just looking at the juxtaposition of it all when the ooze is in hole-form.

Unlike typical oozes, however, the Starlight Ooze has an intelligence that allows it to frame itself in window-form (along with the ability to stick to walls) to take advantage of adventurers looking "outside" at the "beautiful view".

New Substance: Birthday

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Birthday Elemental This creature is a whirlwind of confetti and kazoos, with a party hat. Though birthdays are synonymous with happy celebrations, the Birthday Elemental is a mischievous composition that typically appears at poor, unsuspecting, picnic parties to wreak havoc.

Often laying on the park table itself, the Birthday Elemental will wait until the party has sung a song and has the cake/ice cream ready to eat. Suddenly, without warning, all the confetti on the table will spring up, launching plates of said cake/ice cream into the faces of the party goers. It will then proceed to de-pants anyone foolish enough to wear simple breeches. It will dangle presents just out of reach of the birthday recipient and consume any and all candy (which will still be viewable to the party goers).

The elemental will provoke fights but then run away...only far enough for its pursuers to return to the party, in which the elemental will return to provoke again and again until all the people are tired out. Happy birthday to you!

New Substance: Synchronized Swimming

Kobold Cleaver wrote:
Once per page (fifty posts), a creature other than an elemental, golem, dragon or ooze (like a special type of cow or goblin) can be introduced.

The new creature is: Grig

The Synchronized Swimming Grig is known as such because of the exact, matching movements of this tiny Fey when dancing in gangs or bands. The Synchronized Swimming Grig often mesmerizes folks by performing the same dance, but with each Grig using its invisibility to flicker in and out of the performance - sometimes creating a domino effect that the observer will naturally follow to the last Grig (usually in the opposite direction, as the Grigs are trying to distract the observer). Like all Grigs, Synchronized Swimming Grigs excel at music. But unlike their basic forest cousins, the Synchronized Swimming Grig do not have use of Pyrotechnics. In its place they use Water Walk to enhance the unique flavor of their dancing.

New Substance Coffee

Sovereign Court

The Coff-Coff: a type of ooze formed from coffee. Rumour has it, the first Coff-Coff was created by either a wizard or an alchemist who had tremendous trouble staying awake during the most time consuming of their tasks whilst being unable to stand the taste of coffee. As such, a Coff-Coff will seek out an individual that is sleeping or about to fall asleep and "steal" their ability to sleep. Part of the reason for this is that, quite ironically, the Coff-Coff suffers from terrible bouts of insomnia and is unable to fall asleep on its own. What is worth noting, is that the Coff-Coff possesses awareness that sleep is needed for all living creatures and so will only stay with an individual for up to a week, unless the individual sleeps for longer than necessary (as such, animals in hibernation suffer from "attacks" by the Coff-Coff more frequently). Oddly, despite the fact that multiple Coff-Coffs exist, the Coff-Coff is not known to reproduce as they live for only 3 years and never come into contact with each other.
