Being Mythic is Awesome!

In conjunction with d20PFSRD, RGG has four new pdfs with expansions and continuations of the Mythic rules!

Four Horsemen Present: Mythic Archetypes
The Four Horsemen present a new set of archetypes, tailored to take "Mythic" to a whole new level.
Mythic heroes are a diverse lot, from the children of death gods to the last scion of an all but extinct civilization. Why should two vastly different backgrounds produce the same mythic potential? Mythic Archetypes seeks to revisit the assumed conventions, granting additional alternatives to every mythic hero. These nine new heroic archetypes from Adaptable or Elemental, to Fiendish or Undying, provide a wider range of options for your mythic campaign!

Four Horsemen Present: Mythic Magic Expanded
The Four Horsemen show you how to do more with Mythic Magic than just expend a point from a pool! With Mythic Magic Expanded, you learn the secrets of Blood Rituals, gather worshipers together to call on Mortal Faith, weave your sagas into near reality with Storytelling, empower the things you craft with ancient Sigils, concentrate the power of the world into massive Monuments, or use mythic energies to craft Warding Circles to deal with outsiders.

Mythic Path: Transcendentalist
(With a 5-Star review!)
The Four Horsemen present a new mythic path, for those occult heroes seeking to unlock the secrets of psychic energy. The transcendentalist's power comes seemingly without effort, possibly transcending the limitations of the flesh. As a conduit to the realms of unseen mysticism, you draw upon psychic energy to unleash the powers of the universe.

Four Horsemen Present: Mythic Magic Items
Mythic characters need mythic magic items to keep up with them, and the Four Horsemen have you covered! From legendary items such as the sorrow-loving obsidian longsword Hirasthe ("the presence of evil") and the tower shield known only as the Mighty Parapet, to magic items ready to be enhanced with a character's mythic power such as the Brush Blade, Cascading Cloak, Mortifying Mask, and Sundering Shield, this product offers 19 items ready for the GM to say "Make some Mythic Characters!"

What other topics would you like to see the veteran freelancers in the Four Horsemen cover?

Mythic class abilities for those classes that do not already have them - both Paizo and RGG classes.

Seconded!

More mythic feats.

How about a guide on how to do mythic right? I know that balance is delicate when playing with mythic rules.

Yeah - Dunno if I want it personally but a Mythic Feat reference document would be a huge undertaking, and pretty cool.

One on that subject exists - it's Mythic Solutions from Legendary games. But I'd love to see a different take / ideas on that.

Hot diggety!

It sounds like we'll need to do another Mythic Month sooner than I thought! =) I'll schedule the team for (at least) some mythic feat and class ability assignments.

Are there any other monthly topics people might want to see us tackle?

So far we've done Horror Month, Construct Month, Science Fiction and Fantasy Month, Mythic Month, and are nearing the end of Hybrid Class Month with Tim Hitchcock's shifu (kineticist/monk) tomorrow. Next week we start Fun for All Ages Month where we'll be talking about how to run games for different age groups and maturity levels on the Four Horsemen Blog, and release similar themed products. Like a book of children's monsters and books on character options for young, old, and venerable PCs.

Owen:

I would love to see a short(3-4 pages at the least) PDF covering new and exciting Legendary Item bonuses. While Legendary Games added a small handful, in their Mythic Heroes book, a solid PDF that adds at least a couple dozen new ones would be beyond awesome.

Also, the more unique and interesting the abilities are, the better.

OOH!!

Would it be possible to create non copyright breaking versions of awesome comic book super items for PF? Like the Infinity Gems, Thor's Hammer, Mandarin's rings, the Witchblade(and any other of the Top Cow artifacts), Power Rings(of all the different colors), etc?

I would gladly pay for book(pdf or otherwise) that converted a couple dozen comic book items into Pathfinder ones.

Pestilence:

I get the feeling if you did a couple months based on the most popular monster types(Undead, Fey, Outsiders(of all alignments), etc) and then come up with one solid book for players, one for GMs, and then one or two interesting supplemental books, you would probably make a ton of players extremely happy.

Famine (Steve Helt) did a few legendary items in the mythic magic items book, but it is definitely a concept that could become an entire book. I am sure if we put together something like that we can pull from a lot of existing lore and fiction without treading on any copyright issues.

I am all about doing more creature-themed months! =) Heck, we could fill a whole year that way.

With player content, we'd probably include archetypes, feats, spells, traits, magic items, and maybe a base class per monster type. I think a lot of the creature types would lend themselves well to a multi-book approach, like seelie/unseelie fey, chromatic/metallic dragons, and corporeal/incorporeal undead.

Is there any preferable type of player or GM content, or things that have been overdone?

Ultimate Campaign/Mythic crossover support would also be pretty awesome.

Also seconded!

Pestilence,

I think with Pathfinder still being relatively new, coupled with Paizo's incredibly varied release schedule, means that nothing much has been overdone. At least in my personal opinion.

Just looking at the discussion for the upcoming Legacy of Dragons, and the fact that most players are asking for enough content to easily fill a 64 page book, let along a possible hardcover.

Fae get a ton of demand, and I would really, really love if the good outsiders got a lot more attention(from both Paizo and any 3rd party companies). The lesser evil outsiders could all use some serious support too.

I could totally go on, to be honest, there's so much more content I would love to see!!

I am definitely all about this concept for Mythic Month II. Thank you!

I greatly appreciate the suggestions! I know I still haven't run into a wall on creating things I think are fun options for Pathfinder, but it is always really helpful to get outside input.

Care to elaborate on this at all, End?

Sure:

Real life is full of larger than life civilizations, right? El Dorado, Albion, etc. - there are a lot of "mythic" kingdoms in our own mythology.

However, in kingdom building (and downtime) there currently are no rules for truly unique, exceedingly high fantasy concepts - what if e.g. a RotRL-group wanted to take on Xin-Shalast on a kingdom-level? Wouldn't Xin-Shalast have nigh infinite resources, special tricks far exceeding paltry mortal realms? Protect armies? Have special buildings? Be, in short, a mythic kingdom? The rules, so far, do not cover lands like this at all. Sure, Legendary Games Ultimate Rulership, Battle an War expanded the kingdom-building rules in superb ways for regular kingdom Building/conflicts that take fantastic elements into account - but so far, we have no means of detailing legendary realms taking on more conventional kingdoms...or perhaps the PCs carving one good realm from a world suffused by darkness - i.e. one good, mythic nation, versus a world of evil empires. I think a crossover of mythic rules and kingdom building could be exceedingly awesome if handled right.

How about a small(ish) book on Mythic feats, that aren't just mythic versions of preexisting ones?

Same goes for a book on ki feats. These would be feats that are pretty solid on their own, but if you posses ki grant an extra bonus. You could also have each add an extra 'something' via the expenditure of ki.

I was actually thinking this system would be awesome for a 'Martial Arts Tactics' or 'Martial Arts of the Inner Sea' player's companion, but obviously a Four Horsemen book could expand upon this.

Another cool idea would be a book that I sorta of mentioned privately to Owen, which would be an expanded bloodlines book. Yes, I know Rogue Genius already has a 'beyond bloodlines' book, but this would be something completely different:

For starters, it could either be one massive tome, or split into several small ones, to cover all the Paizo bloodlines. Heck, toss in 3pp ones and this thing grows leaps n bounds in size, lol.

The content would include a handful (3-4 roughly) of feats for each specific bloodline, a decent(6 or so) general bloodline feats(Ie ones that can be take regardless of bloodline). Spells for expanding your bloodline list, so that you can have a couple of options per level(and a feat or two to add more to your spells known).

Specific dragon bloodlines would be an amazing, if slightly tricky, addition.

Add in a 2-3 traits per bloodline, a section on customizing the Half-Dragon template and the Dragon Disciple PrC to match a specific dragon, new bloodline specific spells(either tied to a particular bloodline or just ones only sorcerers can use), some awesome archetypes, maybe a couple PrCs, mutations for not only the bloodlines not covered in the Wildblooded archetype, but also some new ones for those that are, and some magic items for bloodlines, and this would be an amazing book, I think.

Especially considering I have seen a lot of comments recently asking to make Sorcerers awesome again, after some of the newer classes seem to have pushed this class to the back of the line, so to speak.

Hells, if you really wanted to get nuts(NO! The Horsemen aren't ever crazy!, lol) this could end up being an awesome and phenomenal Kickstarter project, lol.
