Despite my griping, I am glad to be working at a profession that has opportunity for upward financial potential.
As an ignorant stubborn yout, I would pooh pooh people who worked in the 'rat race'.
Problem is, as you get older, working for a pittance at some blue-collar job becomes more and more desperate.
Pro-tip kids: get that degree in a useful skill. Work hard while you are young and can live off pennies. When you get older and want to relax a bit hopefully you be in a spot for it.

My pup seems to be doing great. Thanks to everyone who sent me money, and well wishes.
There might be problems down the road, and the vet didn't find a definitive cause for his abscess, but he seems to be eating a lot easier.
Could they be the result of infection spreading from the tooth, or is that unlikely?

Or he ate something that he shouldn't have, and the bacteria from that took root in multiple places.

That is one of the main options, but she couldn't find a definitive point where the abscess occurred. So it could have been the teeth, or something caught in the eye, or spontaneous behind the eye socket, or an incipient tumor. In order of possibilities.
But no definitive causation could be determined

DON'T BE LIKE THE MONKEY!!!!
Also too late here. ;P
I did it backwards, got the degree in what I should be doing for fun, and am now looking for some means to support my family as I enter later/mid life.
No Mid-Life Crises for me. Too many of those going around already. :P
EDIT- And I can't afford it anyway! ;P- /EDIT
Let's see, math is not my strong suit but I'll give it a shot,
Been working this gig for 10 years. I'm 51 now, and I can 'retire' with a State pension from the University in another 10 years.
Of course, I can't afford to live on what they are paying me now, so the odds of being able to live on the pension is,...
Let's just say the odds are NOT in my favor. :P
THIS. THIS is why I hate maths! :/

I did it the right way, but I think it is much easier in Germany with a lot of social security, very strong job markets and a lot of employee rights protecting you from getting fired to easily
choosing (by shear luck) the right profession and the right company did help as well

I'm in Arkansas. If you get snow I'm going to be so jealous.
The year my son was born (1993) he was 6 weeks old at Halloween. It snowed nearly 2 feet. He was too young to go trick or treating, of course, but for me it was the best Halloween evAH.
Halloween is actually my son's birthday. He ends up getting a bunch of costumes every year which he wears throughout.

Halloween used to be a really big deal for me .
Now...
The last two years I had no trick or treaters. I'm in a new place, but there can't be a big Halloween thing here considering the security in place. No one could go door to door.
So this year I'm saving my cash. And going to a Dresden Dolls concert. I had plans of dressing up, but my finances are shot.
Maybe a pumpkin for carving. I do love pumpkin carving

Ah HAlloween,
Last year I made My daughter and I Harry Potter Robes for Halloween.
My son went the silly route, and bought a banana costume,... :P
This year he bought (with mostly his own money) a complete 'homemade Homecoming Spider man' costume, but now wants to get another silly costume instead of actually wearing it. :P
They (think they) are a little old to actually go trick or treating, but we enjoy dressing up and looking at all the costumes.
The highlight of the holiday for me now is the Annual Halloween Concert here on my University Auditorium Stage. The players and attendees all dress up, and I usually get together with the conductor for a gag or 2 for the show. (in the past I have put on my Jedi costume and joined Volunteers from the 501st for a lightsaber duel, and been Indiana Jones while the orchestra played the appropriate theme music.)
My wife and kids like the pumpkin carving.
But I'm the one that has to actually do all the carving. :P
I prefer pumpkin pie to pumpkin carving! :D

Well I had hoped DMCal would give me a like for that one but I guess it wasn't quite the same level of Lovecraftian horror... So we'll go with a twist on a classic! ;)
“Ph'nglui mglw'nafh cake R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn."
I must have overlooked it! Sorry! Here's a like for this one you can share with it.

You're a stage manager, right? Can't you just raid wardrobe and borrow a few things for the night? :)
'Stage Manager' Technically yes, among MANY other things. :P
Sadly, the wardrobe is in the THEATER department's building, across campus. While they would let me borrow stuff, I just don't usually have time to go over there and 'shop'. :)
I think this year my student staff wants to go 'Minions', the kids in the audience will love it. I can come up with a passable Gru costume. ;)
