Thanks Mothy. I had a better weekend, and a friend took me out for hibachi, which was nice. Oh an scorpion bowls.
PaizoCon is ramping up this week. A lot of folks are already flying in, but the games don't begin until Friday and run through Monday (long weekend here in the YOU ESS AYYY)
I'm flying out eaaaaaaaaarly in the AM Thursday. And working balls-out until then.

I'm actually pretty fortunate (if I look on the bright side) that my sleep apnoea is in the least serious category. At this point the doc is not recommending a CPAP, the suggestion is for some aids to help me sleep on my side rather than my back (based on the recent sleep study I did apparently I'm only snoring / stopping breathing when I'm on my back) - so I'm looking into that. There's a store right near my office that sells all sorts of sleeping aids, I checked it out today but am going to do a bit more research before I make any purchases.
I'm glad it's in the 'least' category Moth. +1 on 'luck with treatments'
In a similar vein, I have never been diagnosed, but have known for years that I snore when lying on my back. I wake myself up with it. But I have no trouble when on my side. :/
Of course, I prefer to sleep on my back. :P
Yet ANOTHER of those pesky things that the doc says "If you would lose 'a little' weight, all your health issues would likely go away."
We just disagree on the definition of 'a little'.
I'm thinking 10-20lbs
HE'S thinking 50. :P
Moot point, since my 'insulin resistance' (AKA-Diabetes) makes it d@#n near impossible for me to lose anything lately. :/
And yes. I AM trying. (Could I try harder? Probably. But unlike my father I AM trying!) ;P
And I'm rambling again. Sorry.
Back to work and coffee.
NOT in that order!
HAPPY MONDAY Treeforters! ;)

Easiest thing I have seen for back-sleeping is a tennis ball sewn into the back of a T-shirt. Never tried it, because it doesn't matter for me.

So, there's a little bit of good news. I spoke to the bank and got the errant transaction narrowed down. They will block all further transactions from that source. It seems that the source had been skimming $40 from my account since June 2015. The bank will investigate. They also refunded an overdraft fee, so I've got bus money for next week.
And now, the bad news. I do know the person that's been doing this. The Pastor of the Church my Mother and I go to has a side job, selling Life Insurance. I had a policy with him, and I asked him to cancel it when my employer began offering insurance. Why pay twice for the same thing? Apparently, not only had he not cancelled the policy, but he reduced the premium from $100 to $40. And set things up so that it's done electronically, without my permission. And I have a very good memory.
I'll forgive him, of course. But I can't trust him anymore, and I no longer respect him.

Huh, Thanks Ed, I will certainly have to check this one out.
(I hate 'dieting', but I love the Atkins 'You CAN eat meat' approach!) ;PThanks!

THIS sounds good!
(Um, what is a 'Scorpion Bowl'?) :/
It does pack quite a sting. Drink with caution, for it is very tasty as well.
Oh my goodness. 'Scorpion Sting' Indeed!
Sounds deliciously dangerous!

Sorry to hear that John,
But also glad you at least figured out what it was!

Sorry to hear that John. Especially hearing it was someone who abused a position of trust like that. Are you still going to patronize his church or find another?

Yeah. Really wish it wasn't him, though.
Of course. That sort of thing (betrayal, really) is hard to accept.
And it stinks to boot. That fact that you say you can forgive him says lots about you.
Not trusting again goes without saying. :/
Good luck finding a new church home. :)
Prayers for you and your mom.

Just realized an hour later that doesn't read how I thought it did. :P (Stupid text-only communications)
I MEANT this as a compliment to your character. :)Sorry if it reads funny.

Greatly relieved that my friends in Manchester are safe and well, though I didn't really think they would be taking their kindergartner to a concert. Still, the FB emergency notification came in handy.
OTOH, I hope there's a special hell for those who set out to deliberately kill bunches of little kids.

I think there is. It's a place where they're tormented forever by the voices of the children they've murdered.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I based a character in Patrick's Reign of Winter on these reindeer-herding people, who are now in trouble. I feel more moved by their plight than I would have if I hadn't heard of them before.

Cool.
Just got into a game run by Aubrey here on the boards. One Mythic Tier, took me forever to build it as I had never made one before.

Gunslinger game looks like it could be cool. How are you planning on running the game? I don't think I've ever gamed with you, and I always try to get an idea of the GM's "style" before making a character.

That's an interesting question.
I'd say my style is similar to that of Patrick's. I am not a rules stickler and I favor heavy RP. I'm not afraid to move away from the AP at times when the PCs action stake them elsewhere and I'll seek I/C reasons to guide them back on the path when it's time to head back.
That said, this particular game will be a shoot 'em up so combat will likely be fast and deadly and mostly ranged.
I play Mythaniel in Pat's Suicide Squad game FYI :-)
Probably my best "work" as it were on the boards is in the V20 Dark Ages game. Obviously I am Storyteller Shadow in that game. Click on my Profile and you'll find that thread. Should give you an indication of my DM style even though it is not a Pathfinder system game.

Alright, sounds doable. I didn't forget about Mythaniel-- I don't think I've ever had you as a GM, but I've been on the forums for over 10 years, and I've played in a lot of PbPs, so there's always the chance I just forgot one.
Any particular party roles that need to get filled?
