Get some sleep wave-beaten wizard! And stop frolicking with those water elementals! ;)
Early call to work. Time to drive some kidlings to school.
You too Monkey-man!
I want MY kids bus drivers to have good nights sleep in them before dealing with my little monsters,... erm, I mean,
Before driving my precious angels to school! (Yeah, that's it!) :)

Oh I basically took yesterday as a holiday. I loafed, I napped, I watched the endless FXX Simpsons for a while (I basically have only seen about 15% of the show, so a lot of them are new to me)
I was ready to get all the little darlings to school. It was hairy on the elementary run though. A lot of tricky turn offs and missing street signs. I ended up 10 minutes late to school , but better late and safe I say.

Mashed Potato's! Very silly slapstick kids fun, not the chuckle brothers but good nonetheless.

Yeah the Simpsons is a lot like air-popped popcorn. Filling, but fairly meh usually

I hope you found your spider, Treppa. I think one bit me while camping. I thought it was a mosquito bite at first but mosquito bites don't usually look so angry.
I sent it to find you, fearing you might be lost. It was not supposed to bite you.
Spiders are often falsely accused. Because of the eyes and, y'know, fangs.

And once you hit your limit, you're done for a time.

I went to geek squad once, with my old netbook. It had picked up a virus that was really messing with it. They wiped the hard drive. I lost everything that was on there.
Soooo.....I've never gone back to them with anything.
Oi,
Yeah I did have take them my laptop last year, for some reason (never found out why) my laptop stopped recognizing my login credentials. As if my user account didn't exist. But when I logged in with Safe Mode, I could dig through the hard drive and find everything. (?!?!?wtf?!?!)Long story short, they did manage to get it back, but I made darn sure to download everything I didn't want to lose onto a large USB drive first. Just in case. :)
I seriously stopped trying to call/use Geek Squad when I called them with a problem, told them everything I had done to try and examine the situation, and the Geek Squad tech told me over the phone "Well, you've done everything that I could do." (Which wasn't much, apparently) ;P
Finally got one to admit that the 'techs' at the store didn't know much (I'm not saying that's ALL of them, just what this one person said about this store) but they all had a USB drive with various programs on it to fix problems. IF the USB couldn't fix it, then they had to ship it off to a center with 'techs' who actually knew what they were doing! :P
I am seriously in the wrong business. :/

I should probably open my laptop and clean it inside... *sigh*
I've,... never even thought about that. :P
On the other hand, I DO vacuum my desktop 'game' PC regularly. (And the family PC)
I only open it once a year or 2, but regularly vacuum all of the intake, fans, etc to keep them clear. Seems to be working, no heat-related problems that I am aware of. And I live in Lousy-anna! ;)

~winces at the thought of vacuuming a computer~ Use canned air unless the vacuum is one that does not produce static.

Fun fact: Canadian electronic music producer and DJ deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman) gained his stage name (pronounced "dead mouse") after finding a dead mouse inside a computer tower.
From The Other Wiki:
"Zimmerman's father claims that when his son was in his early teens, he was chatting with a friend on his computer, which then abruptly shut off. According to Zimmerman's father, he said that it had a smell like burnt wire and had a strange odor. Zimmerman started to dismantle his computer and happened to find a dead mouse. Zimmerman then became known as the "dead mouse guy" among friends. Joel tried to change his name to "Deadmouse" in an online chat room, but it was too long, so he shortened it to "deadmau5"[.]"

We don't have it around here.
Anyway, I done that in the past, just not with this laptop. Learning where all the relevant screws are is pain in the backside...

Tales from the corner store, part II:
Imagine, if you will, a short, scrawny, old (probably about 70) white dude with a long white beard sitting in the driver's seat of a gigantic black pickup truck, blasting Rick Ross' "The Devil Is A Lie" on the stereo and thumbing through a huge stack of what looked like $1 bills.

On an unrelated note, thinking back, I kind of want an excuse to play this character. Because utter failure shouldn't be confined to real life.

One thing that helps out with disassembling / reassembling a laptop is to take an 18 count egg carton and use that for the screws. The top left one is # 1 and the bottom right one is #18. Just put the screws in there in order of removal.

I am headed home from seeing a friend's Off-Off-Braodway play. He asked me to describe it, and I characterized it as Julius Caesar meets The Golden Girls meets gay bondage porn.
I say the sweetest things.
Et tu, Mr. Slave?
Friends, Romans, Aged lotharios, lend me your Lemmiwinks!
OK. I'll stop now...

~sighs~ I can't believe that I have been to Nashville, TN over 5 times and I never know about this place. OTOH, I did get to visit this place a few times. It was well worth the trip just for that place.

I have a question for you miscreants. What car insurance company do you use? Have you had any issues with them? Would you recommend them?
Edit - If you have been in an accident, how did they treat you and how did they handle the accident?
A large part depends on your agent, and not just the company as a whole.
That being said we were with Allstate for the longest before they dropped us for "claims made". Yes, our insurance dropped us for actually using our insurance. The claims in question, 3, were spread out over 8 years, and 2 of them we weren't at fault -_-
Went with Safeco for a bit but it was crap, didn't have any claims thankfully but just dealing with them was a pain in the ass, aside from the very nice and competent lady that signed us up they couldn't get their s$@~ together.
With State Farm right now and everything seems to be going good, cheaper too.

USAA here. The rates are decent, since their insurance pool is limited to military and families. They've treated my accidents fairly well.
I don't know if you have any military folk in your immediate family, but if you do they are a decent company.

To be fair the only way to remove a virus is to completely wipe everything off and reinstall everything from scratch.

I use Progressive. They are the lowest priced and extremely fair and responsive after an accident. But then my frame of reference is small consisting of previous State Farm membership and about a half dozen new insurance hunts.
