Spellstrike and Iaijutsu Strike Samurai

Rules Questions

If a person was to build a Magus/Samurai and at the start of a combat challenge was used then Shocking Grasp cast. Second round Iaijutsu Strike was used does the shocking grasp come into effect with this strike?

Also if it does, is there any way to speed up this process without taking those two rounds to do it?

There is probably some way to make it work, but Spellstrike only works with a weapon you are wielding, and Iaijutsu only works if your weapon is sheathed.

Works.

You use cast Shocking Grasp and hold the charge (you must maintain concentration).

Second round, you could go and touch a m%+!@%!+@+$% with it normally, any wizard could, but instead, he used Iaijitsu and released the held charge in that moment.

Disagree. Spellstrike doesn't transfer the charge from hand to weapon when you cast, it activates when you hit someone with a weapon.

This FAQ makes it clear that a Magus can cast a spell, then draw a weapon and Spellstrike. The "must be held in hand" thing only applies to Spell Combat.

To quote the relevant part (bolding mine):

Quote:
On a related topic, the magus touching his held weapon doesn’t count as “touching anything or anyone” when determining if he discharges the spell. A magus could even use the spellstrike ability, miss with his melee attack to deliver the spell, be disarmed by an opponent (or drop the weapon voluntarily, for whatever reason), and still be holding the charge in his hand, just like a normal spellcaster. Furthermore, the weaponless magus could pick up a weapon (even that same weapon) with that hand without automatically discharging the spell, and then attempt to use the weapon to deliver the spell. However, if the magus touches anything other than a weapon with that hand (such as retrieving a potion), that discharges the spell as normal.

A Kensai Magus w/ Sword Saint Samurai sounds like a really flavorful multiclass/Gish combo, given their names are effectively the same and that they don't inherently clash mechanically. Sure, lots of redundant features, but still, me likey.

Thank you guys for the speedy replies, i appreciate the quotes as well!

@Darth the build is more of a Kitsune Eldritch Scion Bladebound Magus / Sword Saint Samurai, with the black blood bloodline as of this moment, but I haven't started the build yet. I wanted to get some questions out of the way before I committed.

I made a secondary thread about Eldritch Scion bloodlines, and Eldritch Heritage Bloodlines to get Orc as well for the strength buff but we'll see how this build goes now that this question was answered.
