Expected DR At PFS Games

So I have a natural weapon bloodrager, whose build I planned out (mostly) up to level 10. In my planning I noticed that I am extremely low on money, with the main culprit being the +3 amulet of mighty fists, which costs a staggering 20000gp more the the +2. Now, the +1 to attack and damage isn't worth the high price, but it does grant my attacks the ability to bypass cold iron and silver DR. So the question arises, is bypassing the DR worth the cost? How much does cold iron and silver DR come up?

TL;DR- How common and how high are DR/cold iron and DR/silver in PFS games?


It depends on the season but there is usually some cold iron or silver in every season. Some have more some less. But you see demons and devils often. Silver isn't seen as much but still shows up from time to time. You also see adamantine quite often, especially in the last few seasons.

In general, I think demons are most common. Devils are rather rare. Adamantine is mostly seen on constructs/robots and casters with Stoneskin.

In Season 5, lots and lots of demons.
In Season 6, lots and lots of robots.

It really puts a serious cramp on "lots of natural weapon attacks" builds.


So it seems from what you are saying that the +3 is worth it. Considering I have six attacks, that makes sense, but it's a bit of a shame.

Make it a +1 furious amulet. And considering you'll shred most non-DR creatures, it's just one of the reasonable trade offs you'll have to deal with.

Holy Cannoli, that is AMAZING. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the +2 is active my enhancement bonus is, to all intents and purposes, +3, which means I get the overcoming of DR.

Am I mistaken in thinking that the Furious property could only go on melee weapons? I'm not entirely sure you can apply that to an Amulet.

If it works though, you're golden.

I tend to use Bane (Evil Outsiders) but then I don't play 'ragers yet. Furious is perfect for you.

But keep in mind that DR/Adamantine will be a problem, and that even when you get to a +4, Hardness will still stump you. The rule saying a +4 penetrates DR/Adamantine doesn't say it'll penetrate Hardness equally.

You might want to pick up an adamantine weapon as a backup plan. I'd recommend an earthbreaker or heavy pick, because the other big use of adamantine weapons is breaking through objects and buildings. In those cases sometimes the GM points out that not all weapons are suitable for that; a rapier is bad at breaking down walls, even if it penetrates hardness. But the earthbreaker and heavy pick are good for that. And they hurt a lot on Coup de Grace.


Furious is hilariously good. If you rage, it's your first enchantment, no question.

After the +1 of course, unless its on an Amulet of Mighty Fists, then it can go on before the +1.
