Glad you are loving Winter Heroes! Meanwhile...
Our very first Mythic Monsters product, released shortly after the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Mythic Adventures rulebook itself had debuted, was the legendary Mythic Monsters: Demons! The only complaint we ever had about that book (which you can pick up this week for just 2 bucks as our TWO$DAY product of the week!) was that it just didn't have enough demons in it. The time to rectify that situation has come, with Mythic Monsters 35: Demons Too!
Our initial release covered almost all of the classic demons, but there are oh so many more within. Now, thanks to the combined talents of Jason Nelson, Alistair J. Rigg, Steven T. Helt, Todd Stewart, Jim Groves, and Nic Logue, we are proud to present the 35th installment in our magnificent Mythic Monsters series debuting this Friday in wide release. What lies within? BEWARE!
Mythic Monsters: Demons Too brings you an awesome array of abyssal adversaries ready to bring pain, torment, destruction, and woe upon the world and your heroes. These dastardly demons range from CR 3 to 23, including some of the lowliest of demonkind, the disgusting dretch and the half-breed cambion, as well as the savage footsoldiers of the Abyssal armies, the spiteful schir with their hewing halberds and the goat-horned brimoraks with their fiery hooves and burning blades. Truly hideous horrors lurk in the foul places of the Abyss, from the filthy and pestilential gibrileth to the foul and bestial kithangian, or even the lowly and loathsome abrikandilu who seek nothing but the wrecking of all things beauteous and fair. The seductively sinister coloxus conceals its insidiously insectile nature beneath a cloak of possession, while the deadly derakni revels in the company of the vilest vermin of the nether pits. The mightiest fiends are agents of death as often for their own kind as for others, as the prowling shemhazian preys upon all things weaker than itself while the subtle seraptis cultivates despair like a crop of death, leaving suicide and hopelessness in its wake, as does the warmongering gallu, lord of bloody battle. As if a dozen existing monsters were not enough, the brand-new skrekalga brings the spirit of absolute obsession and corruption to all it encounters. Add to that a delightfully disturbing piece of demonic fiction by Todd Stewart and you'll be ready to unleash truly exquisite evil upon your heroes.

What other products are in plan for Reign of Winter plug.ins? We are currently in the middle of book 3, and I expect we will play it at least half a year more. Any higher level module side-treks?
The product I am looking forward to most is Legendary Fighter, though. I hope it will be same groundbreaking re-tooling of the class as Legendary Rogue was (I got mine in Mike Welham's ThirdPartyMass, still have to write a review for it). That's one hell of a good book. What's the estimated release date? Will you wait for Armor Master's Handbook? (or maybe you have enough inside information to keep a back door open for it).

We do have one adventure planned so far, which is likely to fit in with Rasputin Must Die! (either before or after it), but that's pretty early in the process.
We are definitely planning a Treasury of Winter, and I've already got a fair amount of notes for it and art coming back in, as well as Legendary Villains: Wicked Witches. The treasury is probably the next product set to release, most likely in February, but we'll see how things progress.

It will have a lot of options, connecting with the unchained updates for fighters and going in some new directions, and I have already written some big chunks of it, though I haven't yet incorporated anything from the recent Toolbox/Handbook supplements. I'll definitely give them a look and see what might be a good fit.
Thanks for your kind words on Legendary Rogues; glad you loved it, and we'd be most appreciative if you could write up a review!

While I'd like an adventure the most it will probably come too late, but I'll probably pick up Treasury of Winter for our GM.

If a large chunk of Legendary Fighter will be connected to stamina system, than maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up. That's the most disappointing thing, IMO, in Unchained.
1. It robbed us from a complete fighter re-haul, the really unchained and reworked class.2. While it's a definitive power-up, it doesn't fix any of the problems I have with the fighter (out-of-combat utility; in-combat mobility; anti-caster options, anti-magic defenses and options; over-specialization and non-versatility).
3. It's filled with fiddly minor bonuses that I'm more likely to forget, or does something that IMO should have been the part of the original feat.
4. It gives a resource pool to one class I don't want to have a resource pool.
I understand that many people will be very happy with expansion of stamina system, but I am not one of them.
I don't know about Melee and Ranged Tactics Toolboxes, but I know that Weapon Master's Handbook is the best Companion book I've seen. It definitely touches on some of the problems I mentioned in my 2nd point. Not that it's perfect, and implementation is kinda limited and backwards, but it's a start.
I know, I'm ranting, but this used to be my favored class until I learned it's limits the hard way, and I really want to see it shine once again.

Let's say that section of the book is what I think is a more elegant way to approach something like the stamina system. It was the nearest analogue I could use to describe it in general terms, but I think you'll find what I've developed a lot of fun to use.
But that's only part of the book anyway. If you've read any of our "Legendary Heroes" books (and you totally should) (or the Legendary Villains books too, for that matter), each one presents a broad swath of rules concepts around a class, which often present not just new options for the class but often a total re-imagination of what the class should be. That's on top of supplemental material like the following:
- brand-new new class abilities
- new uses and tweaks for existing class abilities
- archetypes, feats, spells, and magic items tailored to the class
- a new prestige class building on classic tropes that work with the class
If fighters are your favorite class, I'm pretty sure Legendary Fighters is going to be something you'll find very interesting.

Oh, no, I'm getting it definitely. I woke up grumpy and saw "stamina", and my rant mode just went on. And it was totally a bait to get you to say more :D
Edit; And after seeing Endz' review, I'm totally getting the swashbuckler one, too.
Woo, glad to hear it! If you like bad guy classes, I'd also encourage you to take a look at our "Legendary Villains" series, currently including Dark Druids and Antipaladins (by Clinton Boomer and I) and Evil Clerics (by Jenny Jarzabski and I), and watch out for the next ones in that series. We've already announced Legendary Villains: Wicked Witches (by Jenny Jarzabski again), but could I tempt you with... Legendary Villains: Assassins?

Check out the latest previews for Legendary Games!
The pyramids of Egypt are known around the world, but the pyramids of Central America are equally impressive, and Legendary Games is going to be visiting both places very soon! First off, coming this week from the land of ancient Egypt, a brand-new adventure from Alex Riggs and Jason Nelson, including an appendix of fantastic new spells of the ancients. Check out The Lost Library of Thoth!
While some raiders of the ruins of ancient lands lust for gold and glory, the wise seek knowledge and the lore of the fallen empires. Somewhere below the desert sands lies a treasure trove of forgotten secrets and magical mysteries under the wings of the Scribe of the Heavens, Thoth. The cult of this archaic patron of knowledge is long dead, but fragments and clues lead you to a hidden shrine that once bore his name. Will you find legendary wisdom and mystic rewards untold, or will the tests of mind and body within reveal only secrets man was not meant to know?
The Lost Library of Thoth is a 7th-level adventure for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game that can be played on its own or as a complement to the second or third volume (#80-81) of the Egyptian Adventure Path from Paizo, Inc.
But wait, there's more! Coming next week is the latest installment of our new Mythic Monsters books focusing on real-world myths and legends, Mythic Monsters: Mesoamerica!
This marvelous mythic bestiary brings you an awesome array of monsters drawn from the myths and legends of Central and South America, plus a few from the Caribbean, courtesy of Mike D. Welham and Jason Nelson. In addition, we present the mortal servants of the wise and benevolent couatl, the plumed servant prestige class, designed for standard Pathfinder campaigns plus mythic versions of all of its class abilities! What monsters can you expect in this one? Check it out!
CR 1/MR 1 - Mythic xtabay
CR 4/MR 1 - Mythic chupacabra
CR 5/MR 2 - Mythic amphiptere
CR 5/MR 2 - Mythic zuvembie

Did someone say mesoamerican?
We did indeed! Too long has this glorious culture been left on the sidelines of our RPG diet. I don't know when Paizo will choose to visit the fantasy "New World" over in Arcadia, but when and if they do you'll have some very nasty surprises for your PCs!

I'd like the see the Ultimate series dip a bit more into the Downtime rules.. new rooms, teams, buildings, and organizations seem like an area ripe for expansion.
The Hell's Rebels AP gave the Rebellion organization a means to be active ... ways for organizations to interact (attack and defend) would be interesting. This may be more fertile ground after Ultimate Intrigue ships and we see what is in it... if noble houses are not presented in some product similar to Guilds and Schools in Inner Sea Combat and Inner Sea Magic, perhaps that's another area to look at.

Any chance you would be returning to the Mercenaries book for the Ultimate series?
Ultimate Armies (with mercenaries) is on my desk right now, along with a couple of other long-simmering books that people have been waiting on for a long time (Fort Scurvy, Royal Tournaments, Way of the Blade), and I've been bouncing between them and developing other manuscripts that have been coming in. I expect to have at least one of them done in February, and hopefully more than one if things go well.

I have been jotting down notes about revisiting that side of the Ultimate Campaign rules once Ultimate Armies gets done. That is, more stuff around kingdoms, organizations, etc. I agree that it would be better to incorporate the new Ultimate Intrigue stuff into that, as it will obviously be highly relevant to that part of the game. :)

Being someone who really liked Birthright back in its day, I can say that having kingdom-scale organizations who do not depend on controlling hexes for their resources, and which can interact with kingdoms (of various sizes) would be ideal.

Will we be able to buy HeroLab files for Legendary Planet?
The short answer is... maybe.
In the past LoneWolf has been pretty resistant to doing HL files for adventures, though it's always possible that could change. We might be able to do a HeroLab packet of the supplemental material (characters, monsters, new rule options, etc.).
That said, a big caveat is that it seems to take forever to get HeroLab stuff done. It took almost a year to get the Gothic Campaign Compendium HL stuff finished, and it's been over a year now with the Mythic Mania and it's still not complete (though, fingers crossed, the latest word is that the Mythic Hero's Handbook HL files should finally be available this month).
With that experience of delays, I'm reticent to make any promises about when it might be available. It's something we'd be happy to do if there's a reasonably efficient way to get it done, but we didn't offer it as an add-on during the Kickstarter for just that reason. We keep in touch with LoneWolf, and I will certainly revisit the issue once the mythic HL stuff is finally done.
Rednal |
Having used the editor in an attempt to make a simple template, I can confirm that it takes awhile to make stuff. XD I mean, it's one thing if we're talking about a fairly simple ability - a Stone Shape spell doesn't need a whole lot of coding. Complicated stuff, though? Better hope there's something similar you can copy, or you're in for a lot of work.
That said, somebody's doing stuff, because files are out for the gods, languages, campaign traits, and races. XD I'm looking at them right now.
Urath DM |
The HeroLab community is very active in producing files.
The issue, as Rednal said, is complexity. Adding a new deity, domain, even spell, is not hard. Coding adjustments to apply the effects of a new spell, new condition, etc... that's harder.
The editor supports additive material.. meaning things that go with the flow of the established rules and are similar to other, existing things. It does not support variant rules. That requires someone who has built up significant familiarity with the code base to go into the XML and do things by hand.
I would love to see HeroLab support for the Ultimate Rulership, Ultimate Battle, Ultimate War, line... but because they change rules (such as Edicts, and splitting an army's OV into melee and ranged values) are not additive; they are variants and alternatives. So it will be a while before the community has those.
One thought mentioned on the LoneWolf boards is that, while the Ultimate Rulership, etc., line seems too small for each to have its own HeroLab support project, maybe if the line grows to include enough content, a project to do a bundled HeroLab support set could work.

It's a MYTHIC MONDAY, which means we have a new set of marvelous mythic monsters for your modules, especially if you're talking about adventures with murder by skin and saw!
But we also must point out that tomorrow is the most ridiculous holiday of the year, Groundhog Day, so we're having a sale today and tomorrow that is just as ridiculous! Buy ANYTHING at the LG webstore at full price, get a second product for just $2 (PDF) or $22 (hardback)!
Rednal |
Depends on the level of complexity. I only got the Pathfinder version, so I have no idea what the differences are, but... basically, assume that the more complicated it is, the harder it will be. XD Excluding any cases where they can basically just copy and rename stuff, of course.
New language? Easy-peasy. Auttaine Build Points (if those are in 5E)? A bit harder...

Just so I'm clear here, there's no 'coupon' for the $2 special -- we have to buy a regular price PDF or hardcover, and then we e-mail you the lower-priced title we want, and then you change the price to $2 for that sale?

Exactly right.
Doing a "buy one/get one" kind of coupon, especially where the products involved are open-ended, is beyond the capabilities of our store plug-in, so we just do it the old-fashioned way!
Eric, for instance, ordered Legendary Villains: Antipaladins and got a copy of Occult Character Codex: Mesmerists for just 2 bucks! Happy reading!
