Sure its a relative term but we have a lot of games to compare pathfinder to. Any turn based tactical game is pretty fair.
Pathfinder balance is so incredibly bad compared to anything I've played, its so weird to see people defend it
I'm not sure what you mean by "turn based tactical game", but if I had to guess I'd say that those games are also incredibly limited compared to even Pathfinder Core, both in terms of the design space for the build game and in terms of what you can do while actually playing.

Here's my rule: Players, you are limited to Pathfinder books that I own. That's Core, APG, Unchained, Beastiary 1-4.
...
This rule ensures that the source material is always on hand and players aren't catching me flat-footed with things from left field.
Basically every book that you don't have is easily available to view on Paizo's SRD and the D20 SRD. There should be nothing that catches you 'flat-footed' if your player asks you beforehand to look it up and give it a thumbs up or down. The rule should be "must meet GM approval beforehand", not "it better not be from a book that I haven't bought yet.".
Limiting everyone's access to something that you can look up for free at any time is kinda lame.
