So I am working on making an Alchemist for an upcoming campaign, and I'm using the Homoculist archetype and my homoculus is going basicly be a Dream Spider. I am planning on using a flamethrower style thing to light shot web on fire creating a poisonous gas that deals wisdom damage. However based on the description of the poison on the Dream Spider's page, it would seem this gas may be activate on contact. Is there a way for me to protect my alchemist from all this gas that I want to be releasing into the air.
Also is it contact based or breathed in. As if its breathed in then a gas mask should work.

Be born a Dwarf (+2 vs poisons, on top of a +1 base CON modifier), go die and become undead (immunity), do a demonic pact and acquire the half-fiend template, etc. Frontovik's Gas Mask (17000 gp) might help.

Necklace of adaptation. Immunity to inhaled poisons.
Yeah, but the poison gas doesn't seem to be inhaled. It's unclear how exactly the poison gets into your system. The natural attack poison in the stat block is injury but the web poisons on contact. I'd normally assume the gas is inhaled, but it appears to poison everybody in the area.

Uh, yeah. Delay Poison. It is even on your spell-list. Make a few potions of it and chug it before battle. Should last you 3 hours at a time (4 if you make it yourself).

As an alchemist I think I can get an air bubble, but would this be considered contact or inhaled poison, as a gas mask could be crafted or bought at first lvl if I'm correct. Also trying to do this at level 1.
Edit: How does UMD help me in this scenario?
Delay poison is your best bet. It pretty much makes you immune to poisons while the spell is active. You won't be able to pull something like this off at level one with ease.
You might be able to convince your DM to allow you to start with a partially charged wand of Delay poison (and the Rich Parents trait). You'll need to have UMD to activate wands or other magical items (and decent skill in it) since the unique place Alchemists fit in as 'spellcasters'.

Ok, I get its hard to do this at lvl 1 but the reason I want to figure out if it is contact or inhaled, is because I've convinced by DM to let me use alchemy and a hat to make a gas mask.
Though if I play an Android I could get a +4 to saving throws against poison.
Edit: Also at level one I can try to make shiver using the web from my Dream Spider and then sell that at high prices to addicts.

If it was inhaled, it would say so. It doesn't. It does say anyone in contact with the cloud is affected, similar to the harmful vapors from cloudkill.

So I guess that means I can't avoid it without lots of delay poison and the like.

Sry for necro?
Anyway I was rereading the gas, and it says " This gas deals 1d4 points of Wisdom damage to all creatures in the area (not just to those susceptible to contact with webs as listed above)", so does this mean it inhaled.
Also whether or not the above is true, could I use the sylph racial trait breeze kissed.

It is not inhaled. Just being in the area is enough to be affected. Breeze-kissed would seem to do nothing for this.
