1st Gamma World 3rd ed (1985)
2nd Chill 2nd ed.
I have a very strong affinity for Chill, but tbh - the research I put into writing the material (cults, RL murders, conspiracies, etc) is just too much, I can only do it a little at a time or it starts to get to me.
My go to fantasy game is AD&D 2nd ed. PF is currently not a consideration for me to run.

D&D 5e. I didn't want to say earlier for fear of skewing people's answers or derailing the question.

Isn't it a bit new to be making claims like that? 5e's only been out for a few months. There's probably still a large contingent of long-term gamers who haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

My top three, somewhat interchangeable based on mood at the time, are Amber, Call of Cthulhu and Feng Shui.
For my usual groups at large PF (or in earlier days other D&D versions) tends to be the second favorite in the sense that it may not be anyone's first choice, but it's one everyone is interested in playing.

Mutants & Mastermind (I prefer 2nd edition)
Vampire the Masquerade
Remember back in the 80's and 90's when we each had all the time in the world and we played five to six different game systems, and a board game or three and a card game to boot.
The Red Box. Then Advanced. Then Unearthed. The 2nd Edition! Then along the bounty of games in no particular order Tunnels and Trolls, I.C.E., MERP, Steve Jackson's GURPS, Villains & Vigilantes, STAR WARS! Paranoia, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Abberant, then the darkly beautiful Vampire and all the World of Darkness. I miss those times.
But there were drawbacks too.
Back then the only gamer girls around were guys who role played girls.
I don't miss my pager either though, know what I am saying?

OTOH, I still play multiple systems, even with less time.
If those systems aren't designed around needing system mastery and an ever expanding pile of rule books, you don't need to invest the same amount of time and money into all of them as you might in mastering all of Pathfinder.Krensky |

I find your ideas compelling, sir, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

I could never really get into it after having to reroll 5 times before the game even started. This sounds like shenanigans. Yes you can die during character creation, but 5x in row? Unlikely.
It often depended on how hard you wanted to push a character toward retirement, who had already had near brushes with death.
"Yeah, just one more enlistment and I will have it all!!" "Oops!"
