Under Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Advanced Class Guide
Archetypes: all archetypes on pages 75-133 are legal for play, except forgepriest, hex channeler, musketeer, mutation warrior, packmaster, primal companion hunter, primalist, spirit summoner, and steel hound. Hex channeler, mutation warrior, and primal companion hunter are now legal for play. The free crossbow by the bolt ace's crossbow maven ability is not made of any special material and is worth 22 gp if sold.

The Mindtech psychic discipline is legal per the Occult Realms entry in the AR. This discipline gains irradiate and memory of function as bonus spells. But those are not PFS legal per the AR entry for the Technology Guide.
Are there supposed to be substitute bonus spells, or are those 2 spells legal only for Mindtech psychics?
And on a separate note, their base level 1 discipline power allows them to regain phrenic pool points by using either a battery, generator, or the Psychic Battery psi-tech discovery (phrenic amplification.) However, batteries and generators are not legal, and one can't take the Psychic Battery discovery until reaching 7th level. Meaning that within PFS, their entire level 1 power can't even be used until 7th level.

Well...there are some batteries available on some chronicles, and they are very affordable on those chronicles too.

Can the entry for Ultimate Magic be rewritten to actually make things legal? As written not even the magus is legal for society play. It is written as a list of things that are not legal instead of a list of what is legal. Options outside the core assumption are illegal by default unless authorized in the Additional Resources. Looking at the entry only spells, familiars and options that work differently are legal from the book.
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Magic
Anyone playing the magus playtest version must have updated his or her character as of 5/19/11. The following are NOT legal for play:
Alternate class abilities: alchemical simulacrum discovery, alchemical zombie discovery, doppelganger simulacrum discovery, and greater alchemical simulacrum discovery are not legal for play.Archetypes: broodmaster summoner, clone master alchemist, gravewalker witch, pack lord druid, master summoner, reincarnated druid, sanguine wildblooded, synthesist summoner, undead lord cleric, vivisectionist alchemist archetypes are not legal for play.
Discoveries: arcane builder arcane discovery, golem constructor arcane discovery, true name arcane discovery, staff-like wand arcane discovery are not legal for play.
Feats: Blighted Critical, Create Reliquary Arms and Shield, Create Sanguine Elixir are not legal for play.
Hexes: child scent hex, poison steep hex, cook people major hex, and witch's brew major hex are not legal for play.
The following function differently than written in the sourcebook:
Bottled ooze discovery may only be used to bottle oozes which appear in the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary.
Geisha bard archetype grants Spell Focus instead of Scribe Scroll.
Clerics using alternate channeling rules who worship a deity not listed in the Core Rulebook must provide a copy of the source in which their god's portfolio is listed.
Clostered Cleric archetype grants Spell Focus at 4th level in place of Scribe Scroll.
An ex-Inquisitor may not replace existing class abilities with those granted by the Heretic inquisitor.
A broken monk vow only requires a casting of atonement to be renewed.
The Time oracle mystery grants hold monster at 10th level in place of permanency.
Evolutionist summoners may only mutate an eidolon between sessions.
Familiars: all familiars in Chapter 2 and all improved familiars on page 251 are legal;
Spells: all spells are legal for play except blood transcription and those which grant a spellblight (such as curse of magic negation or steal voice);
Other: No content from Chapter 2 is legal for play except new familiars; Words of Power are also forbidden.

I believe your analysis to be incorrect.
Ultimate Magic is listed in the Additional Resources and is therefore a legal resource. Only the items excepted from legal play under the Ultimate Magic portion in the Additional Resources cannot be used. Ergo, the Magus class is legal to play.
The item saying "Anyone playing the magus playtest version must have updated his or her character as of 5/19/11." refers to the playtest version, not the Magus as written in the full release

All of the other listings specifically say which things are legal. If the assumption is that if a resource is listed all options within are legal unless stated otherwise none of the other entries for other books make sense.
The entries from other books are written something like this:
Undines: all alternate racial traits, favored class options, racial archetypes, racial equipment, feats, magic items, and spells are legal for play.
Or like this:
All material from this book is legal for play except as noted below. Some rules elements are legal but function differently in Pathfinder Society Organized Play, as described.
Ultimate Magic does not contain a "legalizing statement".

I have no issue with magi. I asked for the entry to be rewritten for clarity. What other options are available from Ultimate Magic? Can the items such as spellbooks be purchased? They are not listed as illegal so by your reading they would be legal. But there is significant disagreement as to whether they are legal so table variation occurs. All I am asking for is some more clarity and for the entry to be in line with the other entries.

You are correct. It is not worth arguing. My view is that PFS staff have way more important issues on their to do list, so despite the potential minor ambiguity, that in my experience few see as ambiguous, PFS staff should spend their time on other more contentious issues and the rest of us can live with the Additional Resources not having absolute consistency in wording.

To be honest, I have not reviewed the contents of the AR to see how consistent the inclusive/exclusive language is, but I do appreciate consistency in the game rules. If it is true that [virtually] everything else has an over-arching inclusive statement, as he claims, except for UM, then I have to agree that it should be corrected. Not because anyone is necessarily confused by the language or that people believe UM is not a legal source, but for the sake of consistency.

Editorial:
Arcane Anthology falls into the mixed legal/not legal language that trips up a lot of people.
In particular this part of the current (Feb 22, 2016) writing is unclear:
Misc.: The variant spellcasting options on page 7 are legal for play. The philanthropic magic arcanist discovery on page 17 is legal for play...
Philanthropic Magic is not a discovery, it is an arcanist exploit. In addition no mention is made of the legality or illegality of the other two arcanist exploits (one of which is named Arcane Discovery).
Perhaps this was meant to say "The Arcane Discovery and Philanthropic Magic arcanist exploits on page 17 are legal for play?"

Also for Inner Sea Faiths the books needs this line added:
Gods: All gods are legal for play.
Or something similar. This will allow players to use the book as a source for their god choice.
Edit: Also the addition of Daughters of Fury legal magical items was not highlighted in red.
