Flesheater and tiger meat jerky

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

The flesheater barbarian can gain an ability from the beast shape II list if he consumes flesh from a creature that possesses it.

Can I purchase a tiger for 325 gold, wait for it to die in combat, then turn all it's meat into jerky that doesn't spoil easily and then have a large supply of meat that I can consume to gain pounce when I want it?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

You might need a Profession or Craft check to preserve the meat. Even then, your Fort saves should be high enough for rotten meat.

and if you don't mind me adding a question, could you eat pieces of dragonhide or tiger leather armor and use mending to fix em later?

Been a few months but this popped up again for me.

For the purpose of this ability, a valid consumed creature is any dead animal, dragon, humanoid, or magical beast that died and was consumed by the flesheater within the past 24 hours.

I know it could be parsed differently, but I'm reading that it must also have died within the last 24 hours.

You might be going through quite a few tigers, if so.
