Eagle rock?

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Hi folks.. One of my sharp eyed members noticed this location says all monsters gain the demon trait. Does that also apply to the monster cards in balazar's hand? Pretty awesome for his ability if it did. (We took it as 'yes' - just wanna confirm)

I think I would have played it as a "yes" as well; I see nothing in the rulebook that restricts the scope of At This Location powers besides being at that location (which Balazar is in this case).

Wow, I can't believe none of us ever noticed that when playing Balazar at Eagle Rock. Talk about missing an opportunity!

But yeah, unless Vic thinks otherwise, I think that trick totally works.

Awesome - thanks Mike!

... me play Balazar
... me did trick at Eagle Mountain
... me like trick at Eagle Mountain
... gentle nice Master Vic shouldn't forbid me trick at Eagle Mountain
... me love Master Vic

I love the locations where one character is particularly well suited to what the location does. Be if Amiri and Mountain Peak, Merisiel and the Guard Tower, Oloch and Cannibal Island, or whatever. Those were always fun to discover. Seems this is right up there with those.

My favorite, as Imjirika, is the Watchtower - where to acquire a boon you can summon and defeat a random monster from the box. It means you get plenty of opportunities for free explores. :) It is not uncommon, if that location appears, for me to clear it in a single turn.

Guardhouse as well. The one where encounter soldier at start. With a spirit blade it's an instant kill.

Makes sense to me, both mechanically and thematically.

As you can't explore outside the explore phase, Imrijka can't activate her power when she kills a Corrupted Soldier at the Guardpost at the start of the turn.

And Darago! Handy before he gets his "any monster" feat.

Oh so true good sir ..!

However I could still use imrijka's cold iron warden advanced examine ability to stick a non monster to the bottom of the deck yes ... ;)
