What is the damage increase for 7d8?

If you follow the faq, it says to find the next d8 in the progression and make it that many d6's instead. If we were to do that. You would actually loose damage. I can't find anything official addressing this specifically.

That just gets you onto the chart. Then you move two steps down, which puts you at 12d6, which is a marked increase.

You Go two steps right? So 8d6 then two steps,so 12d6

You start with 7d8, find the next highest d8 expression (8d8), convert that into d6 (8d6) and then increase from there (two steps in the progression) to get 12d6.
