Question on the upcoming critique thread

I'm anxious to see where I could improve my item. Will the critique thread be in this forum or elsewhere? Will it not be created until the 2nd round officially begins?

It will be in this forum, and it will be opened approximately 24 hours after the winners are announced (or at least that's usually how it goes).

You can create such a thing at any time (you always could, though it would DQ your item if the voting was ongoing), however tradition dictates that we wait until the top 32 + 4 are announced, THEN we wait 24 hours more to keep the focus on congratulating those who made it to round 2 on their accomplishment. They deserve the attention and praise, and creating a critique my item thread before they are announced (or as they are announced) would really divert people's reading and writing energy inappropriately.

It's a matter of courtesy and respect. It's a tradition from far longer ago than my participation in these threads, but for my money folks @RPGSS really got that one right.
