Seeking new players to delve the depths of the Emerald Spire!!!
I have two well-established games of the Emerald Spire (we have been playing for about a year and have made it down to the sixth level of the ‘superdungeon’) that, through the ravages and challenges of real-life, have each lost a player – I am looking to recruit a replacement into each of these games:
Both parties currently comprise:
- A Fighter / A Ranger (fulfilling similar combat roles)
- A Cleric
- A Sorcerer
- and a Rogue
So, with the main ‘classic roles’ already covered, applicants have a reasonably free hand in selecting a class….
Character Creation Rules
- Characters to be Level 5.
- All non-playtest classes are acceptable (other than Gunslinger, the Samurai and the Ninja).
- 15-point ability buy.
- Maximum HP for your class at Level 1 with four further level increases (to Level 5) at average for class rounded up.
- Core races AND Featured races from the Advanced Race Guide are acceptable (Uncommon races and Custom races will not be considered).
- Two traits may be selected – one of which must be from the Fan-Made Emerald Spire Player’s Guide.
- Your Character Background should preferably incorporate a reason why you are in the vicinity of Fort Inevitable (the Hellknight run town near the Emerald Spire) or in the Echo Woods surrounding the Spire.
- 50% of Wealth By Level.
- Non-evil alignments only.
- All character options must originate from Paizo published Pathfinder products; No 3rd Party Materials.
- Selected player must be able to commit to a good posting rate – the expectation is for daily posting (both groups have maintained really good posting rates).
Note also that we are using the Automatic Bonus Progression rules from Pathfinder Unchained – at Level 5, your character will have:
Looking forward to meeting some fun new characters and, of course, I will be around to answer any questions as they come up during recruitment.
Recruitment shall be open until the 4th September and I shall select characters by the 7th September

I'm interested. I'll see if I can come up with an interesting concept. For the moment, the general concept is a bandit in search of redemption, a former highway, the scourge of Brevoy and the Stolen Lands, looking for a way out.
Crunch-wise, probably fighter.
About fighters, would you allow the bravery feats from the Genius guide?

Adney / Armitron - your characters look fine, thanks - we'd probably need to work together behind the scenes to work out how to integrate you with a party that is several hundred feet underground... But that's part of the fun...
Chillblame - stat-block seems fine, looking forward to seeing what / how you flesh it out...
Deko - apologies, I had thought I had linked the fan made Player's Guide... Let me rectify that...
Fan-Made Emerald Spire Player's Guide
Symas Yastleys, Dreaming Warforged and Timeskeeper... Plus anyone else... - still plemty of time to get a character together...

Deko - good question, and an illustration of where the Automatic Progression System can nullify certain class features - I'd be inclined to say it wouldn't stack however maybe we could consider houseruling something fun like giving the psychic weapon powers equivalent in weapon bonus to that which the Magus archetype gives at the character level (or vice versa, get the attuned weapon bonus progression as the power and get the bonus from the archetype). Something for us to work out if you get a character together / get into the game... Also, is the archetype from Occult Adventures as I haven't seen it anywhere yet.

Yeah, Mindblade is a new archetype in Occult Adventures. How about using the class ability to give just weapon abilities while relying on the APS for the enhancement bonuses?

Murassa Sonvar was a half-elf born in poverty in Cheliax to a local prostitute. Given to an orphanage, Murassa kept to himself for the most part, only interacting with others when needed. He first discovered his abilities when he was 15 when he was ambushed by a local group of bullies from his orphanage. He was surrounded 5-to-1 when an opalescent blue dagger manifested within his hand. He was quick to take advantage of the surprise and fought his way out. From then on he moved locations frequently, trying to keep a step ahead of any kind of retaliation.
Unfortunately, he wasn't quick enough to escape justice when caught stealing food from a store. He was sold into servitude to the man he attempted to steal from for several years. The merchant relocated to Fort Inevitable and set up shop there, bringing his servant/slave with him. Murassa endured it all, doing all of the mundane/embarrassing tasks given to him. Eventually, he earned his freedom but stayed at the Fort, doing odd jobs to earn money for his own adventuring gear and set out on his own. Though he mostly stays for the fishing, his favorite past-time.

So, putting everyone out of their misery a little earlier than planned...
Thanks to everyone who submitted a character - I appreciate it is a little more involved to create a level 5 character than it is to get a level 1 PC together - and, as always, it wasn't easy to decide but, having consulted with the existing players, the following characters have been selected.
For the Emerald Spire Game
Armitron Foebane and Brent Ironhand
For the Stirrings in the Deep Game
Murassa Sonvar
...I will separately PM those selected in the next day or so to agree how to integrate the characters into the game...
Thanks once more to Kinvara Doone and Adney de Montchele, hope your characters find another game to get into...
