Acrobatics and Flying

Rules Questions

Can a creature with a fly skill (and fly speed) using acrobatics bypass someone's CMD when trying to get out of someone's reach. Is it a requirement that they have to be on land to be acrobatic? Or can they fly "acrobatically" to avoid AoOs?

I use the Fly skill instead of Acrobatics when someone is actually flying to avoid AoOs. Same with Swim skill and swimming. But I don't think it's really clear in the rules.

They normally just use the acrobatics skill while airborne. I know this because I've played the rare airborne ambusher archetype.

I think CampinCarl meant to say "use the Acrobatics skill while airborne". The general rule is to use Acrobatics when moving through threatened squares, and the specific exception with the ambusher is that they may instead use Fly.

But, like RainyDayNinja, I usually go with Fly/Climb/Swim myself as well (even though it's not generally in the rules).

Ah, you are correct, good catch! I have edited my above post, thank you.
