Hey all! I would be happy to do some critiques, and I'll shoot a PM to some folks with the thing I'm working on. I'm having a wicked hard time with pricing.

Good luck! Pricing is one of the trickiest parts of the competition, as we are often trying to price effects that don't conform well to the magic item creation guidelines. It's been said before by folks more experienced than I, but it is a good idea to start with the item creation guidelines, then compare the price to existing items to see if it's in the right ballpark.

(If you want me to have a look, PM me. Happy to help.)

I prepared your item today.

I'd also be more than happy to help with critiques/feedback for items (and would love a few extra set of eyes on mine, as well). It would certainly give me a break from obsessively staring at my own items :P

Heh, I simply haven't decided which item to submit. Each one (there's only two) I designed has pros and cons when I look at them.

I decided not to workshop my item this year. I just asked a couple people about wording in specific phrases to see which sounded the best. Its amazing to see how many variations of certain phrases are used throughout the PRD...

To everyone who was kind enough to contact me, my sincerest thanks. I have finally gotten some time off work, all this week was 12-14 hour days, and will respond to everyone asap.

Sorry for the shorter replies yesterday, I was writing on my iphone while first speaking with my boss and then driving with some co-workers.

But, today is a half day so callooh callay!

Best of luck everyone.

Also when you submit your entry be sure to hit preview first and it will provide a word count. this is the official one that will be used to DQ you if you go over the allowed word count.

Noticed a 17 word difference between this and the microsoft office word counter I had been using.

OpenOffice and the preview page for the contest both agreed on the word count of my item, whereas according to this site I was 14 words over that. I'll stick with the word count on my program, thanks.

I wish to give my many thanks to the people who reviewed my item thanks to this thread.

Your input was immensely helpful and the final version of my item would never have existed if not for your kindness, willingness to help and share and your sometimes blunt but always insightful feedback.

I wanted to thank everyone who used my services.
You taught me valuable lessons about giving feedback. I learned a lot from reading those items, and asking questions about them, that I could have learned just re-making my own item or making different items.

Thank you for the opportunity to learn.

Nice to know.

This is my 'busy' season at work so I didn't feel as if I could volenteer here. However once this is over I wouldn't mind putting together a "feedback group" to help each other getting ready for the next contest.

Take Care,

Kerney
