Let me put it like this: If you want to be a reach cleric, drop cha. You don't have room for it on that point buy.
That said, you could also make a healer cleric. In this case, drop str, you'll need those points for Cha and more wisdom.
Channeling isn't something you need to worry about unless you focus on it. A channeling cleric can be quite okay, but a 12 in cha and no feats to support the style does not a channeling cleric make. If you're not a channeling focused cleric, it is a decidedly subpar thing to dedicate resources to.
Don't worry too much about all the debate on here - 'Healing is gud!' vs 'healing no gud!' is a long-raging debate that you got caught up in.
If you don't want to dedicate a trait, cha minimum 15, and at least two feats on it, don't worry about it: you won't lose much by dumping charisma.
Nailed it.

What you're really deciding between is this:
STR
+1 hit
+1.5 damage (assuming a 2-hander)
[+1 to some skills you might care about]
Assuming you're using a glaive vs. AC14 (avg AC for CR2), you're going from 4.75 to 6.325 avg damage/attack, a 33% increase.
CHA
+3 channels/day
[a channel DC increase that doesn't matter]
[+3 to some skills you might care about]
Assuming you heal damage from 2 targets with every channel, you're going from 7 avg HP/day to 28 avg HP/day, a 300% increase.
The other factors are how much your damage and HP/day increases actually increase the overall party DPR and HP/day. This will be fairly fluid, but my gut feeling is that the HP/day increase from CHA will overall outweigh the DPR increase from STR.

Have a look at my maths on the last page to see a comparison. The extra strength is absolutely better than the CHA in the long run: wands of CLW are cheaper than trying to offset the loss of DPR.
This is especially true in PFS where you can buy CLW for 2 PP and can generally count on party members bringing them along.
The crux of the matter is that, beyond 1st and maybe 2nd level, a party has access to effectively infinite HP/day and is instead limited by other concerns (spells/day generally). Thus, even a small boost in DPR from +2 STR is better than an arbitrarily large boost in HP/day. Once a party has their first CLW wand that CHA is a mediocre investment, and once they have boots of the earth it is a near worthless investment.
This completely changes if you are actually using channel in combat, of course --- but that requires a lot more investment than 12 CHA.
