Mine should also be finished! Please feel free to ask any questions if you have any.
Thank you very much for the acceptance. I've been trying to get in a RotRL game for as long as I can remember!

Checking in! Khrondak's sheet is finalized and ready for your scrutiny. ;)
Looks good Khrondak, you can add Shoanti language to your known languages, you should be able to speak your tribal language in addition to Common.
Also has your character just arrived in Sandpoint? I was thinking after meeting Daviren, he would invite you to the festival.
DM-Valkur |
Mine should be done, and thank you for selecting me.
Not a problem, welcome aboard!.
The only thing I noticed was the Knowledge Nobility skill.
+10 Knowledge (Nobility)* (1R+3CS+1TB+3Int)
Should it be an 8? Or am I missing a +2 somewhere?
Also a couple of character questions:
Is your character from Magnimar originally? Doesn't Iomadae have a large temple there?
Has your character been in Sandpoint for a while? I assume yes because you have been working with the Sheriff and the town guard.
For your sword, I'll design a special purpose for it.

For skills it appears that you have 5 ranks (2 C + 3 Int) for 1st level. But on your sheet you have 6.
Bluff:(7) (1R+1Trait+2Cha+3Class
Intimidate:(6) (1R+2Cha+3Class)
Knowledge(Arcana):(7) (1R+3Int+3Class)
Knowledge(Local):(7) (1R+3Int+3Class)
Knowledge(Plains):(7) (1R+3Int+3Class)
Perception:(1) (2Racial-1Wis)
Spellcraft:(7) (1R+3Int+3Class)

For his Knowledge Nobility the feat Noble Scion (of War) gives a +2 to the skill, and makes it a class skill.
The Magnimar thing can work, especially if there's a big temple there. He came to Sandpoint only a few years ago, but he's such a boy scout it didn't take long to build the trust of the Sheriff.
EDIT: I'm going to switch out his rank in Ride for Know local

Done.

Yes, he's just arrived in Sandpoint and just met Daviren. Daviren's ivitation to the festival is fine with me, we can definetely go that route to introduce Khrondak to Sandpoint and the adventure.

Here I am, reporting for duty! Profile is updated. Leveled Bel'Tanis back down to level 1, adjusted his starting gold & gear, skills, and added his campaign trait. Hopefully it's all in order. Thanks for drafting me!
Welcome aboard!
The only thing I noticed on your character sheet was that you might be missing your bonus fighter feat at 1st. But you do have Weapon Focus(falchion) (Ftr 2). Is that supposed to be your fighter bonus feat?
And I assume you have been living in Sandpoint for a while living at the Rusty Dragon and working at the church?
Bel'Tanis |
Cheese and Crackers, how did I forget my fighter bonus feat?!
I took Power Attack - still planning on picking up Weapon Focus at level 2. Little point in having it now when I don't actually have a falchion to swing =P
Yes to living at the Rusty Dragon. Either been working there or the church - whichever one you thinks makes for a better plug-in to the inciting incident.
Scoria the Stalwart |
Oh my. I hadn't even realized that Scoria had been accepted here. Someone else had to alert me to my acceptance into this. Which is great - it just means that Scoria was interesting enough to make it. I'll get right on modifying her for this AP.
Note: I'm actually not sure what Campaign trait to take for Scoria - her reasons for being in Sandpoint are more custom than most. Any suggestions? Also, are we using the anniversary campaign traits, or the original AP's campaign traits?
Bel'Tanis |
The traits linked here by spiral ninja are likely a better fit than the original three.
Giant Slayer sounds like it'd plug into your backstory fairly easily - though instead of having your village destroyed perhaps you and Mahasi kept coming upon the remains of villages sacked by giants. With the threat of giant attacks so high, Mahasi could have specifically trained you to be able to recognize their handiwork as well as to resist them.
Monster Hunter could work in the same fashion with similar tweaking -knowing all the legends of the area, Mahasi's training prepared you especially well for those types of foes.
Scoria the Stalwart |
That does make a lot of sense - I'll go with Giant Slayer, then, removing Centered. That and subtracting 3 points from Int and 2 points from Charisma should balance her out - though the hit to her skill points is regrettable, I must be aware that she's a combat class first. Keeping Craft (Stonemasonry) though, dropping Climb - It's crucial to her background and her reasons for being in Sandpoint.
Scoria the Stalwart |
Scoria should be all set for play now. Please take a look at her sheet, and if there are any errors let me know so I can fix them. I also changed her feat from Dodge to Point Blank Shot, after reexamining her build.
@Midori: I think that you're missing a skill rank in your trained skills. I counted 8 skills trained, not 9 - as I can see, you have to spend 1 more.
@Khrondak: Correct if I'm wrong, but the Martial Weapon Proficiency feat only lets you be proficient in a single Martial weapon, not all of them. To be proficient in all martial weapons, you have to take a martial class like Ranger, Fighter, Barbarian - if Valkur has made a house rule exception, I'll say nothing more on this.

I had forgotten to remove the rank within Spellcraft when I was editing him for RotRL. That's been changed! I also noticed I forgot to alter my CMB/CMD, Saves, HP, etc.. with his revised stats - that has also been remedied. Lastly, yes, I see him having been in Sandpoint for quite a while. I figure his mother passed when he was 16-17, and he was 'adopted' by his uncle soon thereafter.

@Khrondak: Correct if I'm wrong, but the Martial Weapon Proficiency feat only lets you be proficient in a single Martial weapon, not all of them.
Yes, I think you are correct. My mistake. Too bad, it will be harder to get that "barbarian" feel. :)
DM-Valkur |
I'll finish up the character sheet review tomorrow. But looks like everything is pretty well set.
@ Scoria: Good catch, I forgot the Martial Weapon feat for non fighter types is only one weapon per feat selection. I got so caught up in Khrondak's "barbarianess" I didn't even notice! :)
Also, have you just arrived in Sandpoint? Or have been in town a while?
@Midori: What is your alignment I can't seem to find it on your character sheet?
Also, have you just arrived in Sandpoint? Or have been in town a while?
Scoria the Stalwart |
I would think that Scoria was part of the crew building the new Cathedral, as she's a stonemason. Probably not the craftmaster, but setting the stones in place would be within her purview. Also, being an exotic and attractive (Though stoic and impersonal) creature, she would probably be known by the locals.
@Midori: Since we lack a real rogue, and it's part of her background, perhaps put that extra skill point you have into Disable Device? Bard is the second closest thing to a skill monkey. I find it rather interesting that her mother is a cleric of Brigh - considering she's the goddess of Invention and has so few who actually take the time to worship her. I've also noticed that you haven't chosen your spells yet.
DM-Valkur |
@ Scoria, character sheet looks good.
Good idea as being one of stone masons for the church, I'll run with that.
@ Notick, everything looks good.
@ Bel'Tanis, everything looks good.
@ Thaddeus, everything looks good.
@ Khrondak, everything looks good.
@ Midori, looks like you still need spells, alignment, and gear. Other than that looks good.
Also as suggested ranks in disable device may not be a bad idea to.
Khrondak Iron Forged |
@GM-Valkur, Scoria just pointed out to me the following trait, recently published in a book called "Varisia: Birthplace of Legends"
It's called Shoanti Tattoo:
Shoanti Tattoo: Upon reaching adulthood, you received a tribal tattoo, marking you with the symbols of your quah and totem spirits (see the inside back cover for suggestions and designs for Shoanti tattoos). You gain a +1 trait bonus on saving throws against fear effects. Additionally, you are proficient with earth breakers, klars, and Shoanti bolas.
It fits Khrondak perfectly, and I would take this trait instead of Armor Expert if you'll allow it, freeing up my Martial Weapon Proficency feat slot.
Let me know what you think. Thanks!
Midori Masaki |
Alignment set. I swapped out Kowledge: local for Disable Device.
Just finalizing equipment and combat stats.
She'll be using a chain shirt and a longsword.
Do you want us to put the combat stuff (hp/ac/saves/perception/initiative) in the charachter heading or in a separate spoiler link?
Gear goes up tomorrow as I just realized it's 1:45 here.
DM-Valkur |
Can everybody add: hp/ac/saves/int/prec to their character heading when they get a chance. May save some time flipping between character pages for basic info.
@Notic: When you get a chance can you list the amount of gold you have left after making your initial gear purchases.

Oh, and Valkur - the Superior Loaded Dice that Notick has doesn't exactly have a DC. In the description it says:
"Higher-quality dice (such as wooden dice carved around a naturally heavy inclusion) have DCs ranging from 20 to 30."
So, what would you like to make the DC of these dice?! Also, I was curious if it would be okay if only Notick knew how to throw them to get the loaded results he wanted?

I went with a DC20 perception to notice they were marked. The entry was really vague. However because Scoria doesn't know dice games, she just gets a gut feeling they are off, but no real proof. If she had profession gambler then she would know they were loaded.
For rolling the number you want I would say it is a DC10 because they are superior. Non-Superior would be a DC15.

What about Flikr? It's what I use for maps, and have had no problem at my work. Also dabbleboard.com works for me at work, and we have pretty strict site blocking.
Here is a link to my post with a Flikr map
Here is a link to a post where my GM was using dabbleboard
Do any of those work for you? They are the ones that work best for me at work.
DM-Valkur |
I'm in the office today, so I know I can get to Flikr. However dabbleboard looks like I need a flash player update. Good thing I have admin rights.
For the time being I'll keep using google docs. But if everybody can get to flikr or dabbleboard, we will switch to one of them.
Scoria the Stalwart |
I can also use dabbleboard, so that's good. Also, I'm finding it rather amusing that absolutely no one is paying any mind to the fact that Scoria looks like a gem studded marble statue. Everyone's being particularly nonchalant about that fact. She's sitting right there, and no one is even giving her a second glance, not even the newcomers in town.
Either that, or people are forgetting that she's an oread entirely.
Thaddeus Pruitt |
I failed to notice that in the text. I read it like she was pale, wearing decorative stones. I imagine with the festival, people could just consider her costumed for the occasion.
Notick Mostriaré |
Well, also, she's been around for the entire repair project of the Church. Because of that, a lot of the "Oh wow!" effect may be gone already, considering many of us have been around the town a long time.
I'm sure someone of her physique would have been a target of much gossip around the small town when she had initially arrived.
