Yesterday, my family and I saw The Force Awakens. I guess Freehold DM won't want to hang with me anymore either, because I agree with Sissyl. For the first time in my life, I... ALMOST... regret seeing a Star Wars movie in the theater, instead of waiting for it to come out on video. As Sissyl said, Episode 7...
The Force Awakens:
...takes almost every idea from Episode 4 (and a few ideas from Episode 5). For the first time, a Star Wars movie brings nothing new to the series... except that we get to see the Falcon skim the ground, and crash through some trees. My main motive for watching the movie was finding out what Luke is up to, and how he's "awakening" the Force. That's only partly explained, and when Rey finally tracks down Luke, we don't get to hear him say a single word, let alone explain anything! I had to sit through the whole movie for THAT?!?
But as I said, I ALMOST regret seeing it in the theater, but not quite, for one reason. I always wanted to take my kids to see Episode 4 in the theater. And now, I sort of HAVE. Heh.
