So it's a solo Han movie ;)

This movie will be made or broken at the casting stage.

Chris Pratt is mentioned as a likely candidate.

If they get Chris Pratt in Star-Lord mode, it will be a good movie. Anyone else doing a young-Harrison-Ford impression ... I'm leery.

I just hope they don't start with Han as a five-year-old podracer. :P

Shia laboof?

Meh. Could be good, but I'm not really excited about recasting the old roles as stars. I'd rather see something new, even if it is in the Star Wars setting.

This just demands comparison with people's nostalgic memories of how wonder Ford was as Solo. Even more than anything Star Wars does.

Grand Lodge

Star Lord mode? That really doesn't seem like Han at all.

Shia LaBeouf is no River Phoenix.

Sovereign Court

Shia is a pretty damn good actor. He just has a bad rep.

Also, anyone can do Han Solo. You just point with your finger a lot and pronounce sentences half-garbled.

I'm uncomfortable with a cannibal participating in the Star Wars movies. What kind of message does that send to the audience?

This is exactly the kind of movie I hoped they wouldn't make. Trying to extort some more out of characters that really don't need to be reinvented. Ah, well.

What.

Who's going to be shooting the camera in the first scene? Greedo?

By which you mean "it could be broken as early as in the casting stage, and if it doesn't there are still thousands of ways for it to go completely wrong".

Alert ALL Fleet Commands. Focus ALL firepower on Orville Redenbacher.

AGREED. The character AND the actor's portrayal is so iconic they may have to go with someone who is "unknown" to the general public.

Who would you cast Vic?

Grand Lodge

I'm torn. I think an unknown would probably be best, but at the same time I'd like it to be someone I know can handle the part.

Trust in The Force, we must.

'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

Now I want to see Shia LaBeouf guest star in the new Ash vs. Evil Dead series.

Not a clue!

Since Vic Wertz has made the three mandatory posts on this thread, it's now an official Star Wars {TM} thread.

I'll notify Wookipedia.

Fleet High Command would never stand for it.

I'm more a Tarkin than a Solo.

I would love it if you could be an extra in the movie. Or hell, any upcoming star wars movie.

Lucasfilm's Force for Change charity chose one person who donated at least $10 to be in a scene in the Force Awakens.

And while I'm not actually *in* a Star Wars movie, I got to officially name a few characters in Attack of the Clones, and named one of them after Lisa and myself.

(The others I named are Artuo Pratuhr and the Nalle triplets.)
