My wife's arcanist just hit 8th level and she has 10k to spend.
Her current gear is as follows:
Headband of Vast Intellect (linguistics)
Circlet of Persuasion
Shawl of Life-Keeping
We obviously don't have a lot of wealth to spread around in this campaign. I really have no idea what gear is geared towards magic-y types. I told her she should buy a Clear Spindle Ioun Stone and a wayfinder (well, wayfinder equivalent since they don't exist here(i.e. something to resonate its power)) and give it to me so I don't massacre the party (again). But I'd rather have her spend her money on something that would be more useful to her--though me not murdering her is also useful..
So suggestions?
Save for a Blessed Book (12,500)
Make sure she has Protection from Evil and/or Circle of Protection from Evil in her spell book.
Cloak of Protection.
Lesser Metamagic Rod (type depends on spells she tends to use)
Gloves of Reconnaissance
Handy Haversack.
Knowing what sort of spells and exploits she has along with types of protections she generally puts up would help with the list.
