Rage power: Can one nab it at level one?

Rules Questions

Hi folks, got a burning question in my head that I'd love answered, and I can't seem to find a thread that already deals with it.

Looking at the feat 'Extra Rage Power', the way it seems to worded leaves me curious; Is the feat only available to a class that has the Rage Power feature, but can be taken before one gains what would normally be the first rage power?

Or is it meant to be that one can only take this feat AFTER two levels in barbarian?

By the by, love this game. Truly stands on its own in the RPG world.

Cheers,

Ryan

You don't count as having a class feature until you level into it.

No. But it's my understanding you could retrain the feat later that you can currently qualify for.

An FAQ answer...

Can I retrain a feat to replace it with a feat I didn't qualify for at the level I originally gained that feat?

Yes. As long as the new feat is a valid feat for your current character, you can retrain the old feat and replace it with the new feat.

Wow that totally makes retraining usable.

If your DM just lets you retrain. Not all of them are into letting players use the retraining rules to min-max, if at all (an issue I have with how frequently it's cited on forums).

How would it be min-maxing , since it cost as much as a magic time ,seems pretty balanced..
