Who's considered a priest for variant spellcasting?

Rules Questions

In the Inner Sea Gods book each deity has a variant spellcasting section. In some of those sections it says that "all priests" can use certain spells, for instance under Shelyn's section it says "All priests of Shelyn treat charm animal as it if were a 2nd level spell," but who is considered a priest?

In Society priest=cleric. I think that's a reasonable rule to use for home games as well.

Scarab Sages

By default, priest is cleric and by extension warpriest. In a home game I'd allow oracles as well as they use the cleric list. There are also class specific lists in ISG for each class and deity. For example, Rangers and Paladins of Sarenrae can cast Flame Blade as a 2nd level spell, while clerics and inquisitors cast it as a third level spell.

I'd assume any divine class.

Could be anyone who's actually a priest in the setting, would be relatively useless to non-spellcasting priests though.

There are lines that say Cleric, Oracle, Inquisitor, Paladin, or Antipaladin.

And then there are lines that say priest. In my games I rule that priests are people who have truly invested a part of their lives into their god/goddess. That's typically divines, but some sorcerors and wizards can get it too, if the deity provides a bonus to such people.

If PFS says Cleric only, I find it odd, but that's their ruling. If you're considering the validity for a home game however, I urge you to notice that they use priest and cleric as seperate terms.
