So with the latest scenario, the "During This Scenario" rules are:

"Cut the prophecy handout into a number of pieces equal to the number of Cryptic Runes henchmen.

When you defeat a Cryptic Runes henchman, put that card in a henchman pile next to this scenario and get a piece of the prophecy handout.

When you encounter the villain Brinebones, you may shuffle it and a henchman from the henchman pile into a random open location to evade Brinebones."

--------

So we can collect the pieces of the prophecy handout, but it looks like it has no real baring on actually winning the scenario. Is this correct? Is it just the standard "corner the villain" scenario, or should there be another line saying something like, "To win this scenario, collect all pieces of the prophecy handout"? Something like that would definitely make the scenario more interesting, but as it is it seems like a pretty easy scenario other than having to eventually beat Brinebones. As long you beat one Cryptic Rune first, you can avoid him and know what location he goes into, prepare, close any locations you need to close, then beat him.

I feel like there should be something about getting rid of a prophecy piece permanently as part of the evade, limiting how many times you can do it.

It's cool, and I like it thematically and am fine without a game aspect to it but... it does feel like there is supposed to be something. Especially since you can finish the scenario missing multiple pieces of the prophecy.

Oh, and yay more rewards of using new characters with class decks!

Yeah, it makes me very interested to see how the Arcanist's abilities translated to the card game. It's also nice that we can start with the new character right away in the Season of the Righteous instead of having the finish Adventure 1 with another character first.

Can confirm that the first scenario is straightforward, and is generally me testing the waters of "do people like puzzles?"

I like puzzles too! Puzzles like "Why does Tanis's title say 'ACG' yet Mike's says 'Adventure Card Game'?" :P

Our group is a bit behind (only on 05-C due to having to replay a couple scenarios), so can't comment much about the specifics of 06-A, but from what I've seen here I'm greatly looking forward to it (I admit reading ahead to 05-D and was greatly intrigued and amused by the story for that).

Because Tanis is both a designer for the Adventure Card Game and the Adventure Card Guild. See? Efficiency.

Me too!

Though they were pretty simple, I loved the small "sliding block" puzzles in Mansions of Madness. As someone who plays more video games than board games, for me they were immediately reminiscent of Resident Evil and other survival horror games.

Really? I never would have guessed.

Says the NiceGuy who manage to create a new can of worms every week.

Meanwhile, Vic is still trying to solve the "Why does Tanis's title say 'ACG' yet Mike's says 'Adventure Card Game'?" puzzle?
Looks to me like a standard knowledge 25 to defeat though...

Reminds me of a dark dungeon where a mighty sneaky wizard got us confronted to modrons in the form of cubes, spheres and pyramids and there were three holes in the wall in the form of square, circle and triangle.

"Simple enough to solve this one with a greatmace" shouted our paladin... and then she tried to push/smash/bullrush the cube modron in the circle hole. Paladins do not have a d12 in Intellect, and we always roleplay puzzles...

Silly question; is this available yet?
I don't see it on the downloads page...

OP adventures are purchasable as whole adventures, not single scenarios. You'll have to wait till 6 is fully released to purchase it.

I get that. How are others able to see it?

1/5 *

Some folks get the adventures a month before they're made available for purchase by everyone.

Specifically, venture officers and participating stores.

I see. Thank you. Was worried I was missing something. Maybe I should poke the local stores :-D

Yeah. It is setup that way to encourage you to find a local store (or another group) to play at. As mentioned above, they are then made available for purchase the following month.

Speaking of which, when would the release be?

Well, they usually release the compiled adventure after all of its scenarios are released to OP officers and stores. The scenarios are technically not distributed "a month before" they are released to the public in compiled form. The individual scenarios are released weekly as individual downloads on either Tuesday or Wednesday, so the final part of the adventure is only made available to "some folks" about a week or two sooner than everyone else can buy it.

Scenario 0-6C came out this past Wednesday and there are actually six scenarios in Adventure 6, so the full adventure should be available for purchase no later than a week after April 1st, if past history is an indication.

It is cool and thematic, but to me it ultimately seems like a waste of paper, ink, and time since you never actually do anything with the puzzle. Which I'm sort of grateful for, because I'm terrible at ciphers! :)

Also, what Andrew said about not needing to get all of the pieces to finish the scenario.
