I've been looking at summoners recently (as you'd know from my other topics) and I just noticed that while in life link it states if an eidolon travels more Than 10,000 feet from the summoner it gets dismissed and returned to its home plane, bond senses says that the summoner can share it's sense at any distance as long as it's on the same plane. Seems to imply at one point summoned eidolons could move further away which got me thinking are there any other clauses or descriptions that indicate earlier drafts?

I was also recently looking through Summoner stuff and noticed that they can get Unfetter as a 1st level spell. It removes the distance restriction for 10 min/level, allowing greater distances. If the Eidolon is not back in range by the time the spell expires, all the range penalties kick in.

Liberty's Edge

Ten thousand feet is further than you think! (Almost two miles!)

Oh I know that, which is why its so odd to me. 2 miles is far larger than most parties are going to operate but wont get it to the next village.

it allows the Eidolon to treat EVERY MISSION AS A SNEAKING MISSION. It plays Solid Snake while the party snoozes. :D

But if you the summoner take a nap, your eidolon automatically dismisses, so it can't go on OPERATION INTRUDE N313 while you're sleeping. =p
