Check that the terrain is empty behind you, I got fails due to both hills and trees, I guess if the pathfinding algorithm just finds anything behind you if fails ... or it is just in a bad mood now and then.
And I was one of those who argued against that parting shoot had anything to do with it as I was unaware of the warning and had used it several hundred times when I did...

As Lee says, the Tier 2 escalations should, indeed, be out of reach of Tier 1 characters for now, save possibly in very large groups. They should become significantly easier as T2 gear and stats start becoming available in a couple of weeks.
To get Tier 2 gear you need Tier 2 recipes. 5 of us (is that a large group?) spent a couple of hours fighting T2 mobs (reds, not purples) and got 1 T2 recipe between us. Dwarven steel broadhead arrows. Woo hoo!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

One recent observation.
I was in a two person party and the other individual had stopped to gather a few nodes that were causing targeting issues so I wandered off to clear a few small low level groups before we joined up again to take on some ogres.
The second person in the party was off my minimap (probably 1200 or more meters away) when I attacked a group of two wolves and an Alpha.
The two wolves ran straight at me and the Alpha took off in the opposite direction and made a beeline for the party member I could not even see myself :D

Every level of every crafting skill comes with a few Common recipes. As people reach the T2 crafting levels, they'll be able to make a few T2 items. When the adventurers equip those T2 items, farming T2 mobs for the rest of the T2 recipes will get easier.

History repeating itself. We start T1 with a club. We start T2 with a club.

Well yeah and I have not done the stats but a T2 club is probably a better damage dealer than a T1 great sword.
